I really wanted one of these but they are still hard to get.
But reading about this someone said that a wii is a superb console for emulating so I just bought one on marktplaats (= dutch craigslist) for €35 incl. Shipping.

Hopefully it will arrive tomorrow and nintendo just lost a costumer because of this low supply BS.

Got my wii this weekend and hacked it.

It can now play nes, snes and all wii games, will add 64 and gamecube support later in the week.

I didn't like how retropie played on the raspberry pi and that is why I wanted the nes classic.

But the wii plays so much better and with wireless control instead of that stupid short cord that nintendo puts on the nes classic.

I can recommend buying a wii for al,the people out there waiting on the nes classic.

Yes just go to the wii hack reddit, on the right is a sidebar with a link to a wiki, and there everything is explained, it is not hard to do but it took me some time to get the right info there is a lot if old, wrong or scam info in the internet about hacking a wii.

Personaly I use a 500gb external hdd instead of an sd card because the size of the gamecube and wii games. You just need 1gb sdcard for all the program files.

I did it and got everything working nes,snes,64,gamecube,wii.
Right now I only play nes and wii because I am waiting for my classic controller pro to play the rest of the systems.

But it is awesome and I think everybody slightly intersted in retro gaming should buy an Original wii second hand and do this and have loads of fun.

Added bonus for me is that my 6 year old daughter is enjoying just dance and my 4 year old son is laughing his ass off playing mario kart wii.
