My mom got her first "Grandma I'm in big trouble!!!!" phone call last week.
It's a joke (I don't think my mom has ever been called "grandma" by anybody, especially her grandkids) but for the gullible or not-all-there these scams are a real issue. We have a distant family member by marriage who was scammed out of 6 figures by this one.
