Quoted from goatdan:Not sure if you'll see this but...
The River King Mine Train? What's the story here. I love SFStL, and I assume there is a story here...
Six Flags auction around 1985. I had to leave early and put in a bid of $100.00 on it. The auction house called the next day and said I had won the sign for the opening bid of 10 bucks. No one else bid on it. Worked perfectly.
My brother got the old Disco-Disco neon sign for 10 bucks. He sold that years ago.
We also picked up 10 of their original Skee-Balls for 50 bucks each.
Quoted from goatdan:That's awesome! Did you work there? I know the local one had auctions way back when, but you had to work there to be able to bid on stuff, which made EVERYTHING ultra cheap. I used to work there, and some of the guys would tell me about how they bought a Joust that was used for a year for $5.
I also missed the chance to buy some Skee Ball machines when they were clearing out an arcade to transform it. Unfortunately, the dates that we found out we could sell them to when we had to get rid of them I was out, but I know someone who got one for a dollar.
I did not work there. It was a public auction but not widely advertised.
Quoted from jhanley:My Godzilla is done. Bought a wine bottle box from Amazon for the base. and it works great.

Looks great. Maybe make the hole in the box a little jagged and surrounded by burn marks?
Quoted from Betelgeuse:I recently acquired this from the estate of my parent's neighbor. Looks to be all original from 1968 and still working. Any suggestions on the most practical way to touch up the flaking black coating on the tubes? Also, the red tube seems brighter than the white/yellow tube and is actually eye straining to look at. Is this normal? There is no adjustment on the transformer.

Quoted from TomDK:I have also such a "china BBB sign" and I am quite happy with it.
Same for the JJP sign, they were sold out and were around 400 EURO, china-sign was under 200 and works fine.
Colors are natural mich nicer than on the pics.
The WOZ playfield is fitted with RGB LED and a rasperry, the animation is 1 from the original attract mode, very nice wallhanger.

Are the bumper caps available for purchase somewhere?
