Quoted from ultimategameroom:The Yuengling sign I bought after a tour of the old brewery in Pottsville pa in the mid 1990’s. Dick Yuengling carried it out to my truck which was pretty cool.
I also picked up Godzilla and the fosters neons in the late 90’s.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
LOVE that Godzilla neon! Would love yo find one some day. Ever sell, PLEASE LMK
Quoted from gambit3113:Alright, then. I told Ryan that I wanted a Godzilla neon and gave him a few references to the Toho version that I liked best, and he came back with some great design ideas. But the clear favorite for everyone was the classic Godzilla Lighting Up a Cityscape pose. Once we settled on that, I got to looking at the NYC-esque skyline and thought I might like to see my own hometown's skyline being leveled on this thing. So I asked and pointed out the three main landmark buildings that Dallas has working in the downtown scene - Reunion Tower, the Bank of America Building ("the Green Building") and the Oil & Gas Building, with the white Xs and the oil derrick on top. And Ryan smashed it out of the park with a design that used the Dallas skyline as a whole, and really featured those three in particular.
Then, after clearing a ton of wall space for this bad boy, Ryan got the idea of animating the tail along with the body during the breath. This added several inches to the length - a luxury we could afford. We looked at 6 different color combinations for Godzilla, with both Ryan and I agreeing early in the process that Godzilla isn't green, and therefore green wouldn't be the best color to use. But after looking at purples, blues and greens, it was painfully obvious that bright green was the clear and distinct winner.
I cannot speak highly enough about Ryan's meticulous attention to detail, his patience (I had him try a LOT of different color combinations and make a LOT of little tweeks here and there), or his communication. It was a total pleasure to get into and through the design process with him. And Josh (the Neon Shop guy) is amazing. This was not an easy piece to fabricate, and there were some curveballs thrown into the mix with some of the glass and the little details and turns required. We ended up with this sucker at 5'9" long and 3'2" tall. And I couldn't be happier with how it turned out.
Pretty sure there's nothing else like this in existence. Now, on to the challenge of getting this thing 1150 miles north to south....

Can't say enough how much i LOVE that neon......Coolest neon sign i've ever seen
Quoted from LTG:I've got a pretty good assortment now. There have been some game changes since when these pictures were taken. And the green frame around the jjp neon died, it's gone. The jjp neon has been removed too.

I think you need to sell me that TAXI Lloyd
Quoted from RyanClaytor:Welp, we just buttoned up a new custom neon sign. This one's for a Cthulu-loving client and friend of mine, OuterDork !

This 4'x4' sign with alternating animation found its way home to OuterDork 's basement just this past weekend. I hope I'm not jumping the gun by showing some glamour shots here first, but The Neon Shop and I are pretty excited about this one.
[quoted image]
OuterDork came to us with a request to design something for his home which he has affectionately deemed, "House Y'Ha-nthlei," named after one of the undersea cities of the Deep Ones in Lovecraftian mythos. Now OuterDork can rest easy, knowing the High Priest of the Great Old Ones is keeping a watchful eye over the basement layer.

Just read that whole article in your portfolio on the Godzilla neon. Even more impressed with it now once seeing how it was made and how much work went into it. Outstanding job!
