    Quoted from PEN:

I want to like this, but the old english D tattooed on me won't let me.

C'mon, we beat the Cards for the World Series in '68; Which I remember watching live.

Everyone has shown some great neon signs. While not in a gameroom, to me the ultimate pinball (slot machines too) neon sign was the Bally "man / harlequin" on the West facing setback of Bally's Belmont Avenue main plant and, until 1983, Corporate headquarters. Pictures exist of the sign in various magazines including when John Popaduik helped save the sign when the building was demolished in the mid 1990's.. I have never seen a nighttime lit picture anywhere before. Here is the one I snapped with a color Polaroid camera in 1976. I hope Tim Arnold, who now has the pieces, one day repairs it and hangs it up in/on the PHoF. Otherwise, VFW Pinball just might recreate it.

Will local shops make any neon sign you want...even if its a copyright issue?

    Yes.

I'm in the neon club! Picked up a nice Bud Light neon this weekend. It has two transformers, one of which is out. So, being new into the neon repair club, I'm trying to locate an Enhance America EH-9030A. I called the 800 number on the back of the sign, but it's no good. Left Enhance America a voicemail and an email today, but no response. Does anyone have a source for buying one of these transformers? I've verified all my tubes are good. Just need a transformer. Please let me know if anyone has a source.
    Thanks!
I'm up to six neons now. They tend to multiply like pins. Will put up some pics soon.

Go to a neon sign shop in the closest large city, they probably have an old one that will work laying around they would sell for ten bucks.

    Quoted from yzfguy:

It's a great way to easily put together a custom sign. You definitely pay for the convenience, though

Eh, if a pinball part vendor sold them, they'd be $25.00 a letter.

    Quoted from goingincirclez:

I grew up in southwest Chicago, where Old Style tavern marquees were more common than all the Baptist Church Signboards where I live now. It's a comforting reminder of home (perhaps even moreso than the 312 Sears Tower

I've bought quite a bit of Old Style logo merchandise from the Old Style Gift Shop that was in Crestwood. I still use the 12 Pack logo cooler I bought there.

To put neon signs in perspective, my son works in Nevada at a large casino-resort. Building is 20+ years old with lots of internal and external neon connected to enclosed, commercial transformers.

When the closing order came down, building engineering kept all neon lit until they could analyze the age of the transformers. All of the original, 20+ year old transformers are remaining powered while the ones that are ten years old or newer have been powered down. Their experience is that once cooled down, the older ones have a tendency to fail when powered back up. Sometimes in a spectacular fashion.

To be fair, these are large neon tubes with long runs. Mainly 100-500' each. Different than the self contained signs we have in our game rooms.

Looks cool. One in each color?

I hear that multi-color, switchable LED's are now available. Even switchable by wireless remote controls and phone apps.

    Looks GREAT!
Just a side note for everyone else following this .... Antigo Neon no linger will sell to the public so unfortunately if yo need a replacement from them you'll need to go to a local neon place.

My new COmpaNy; "MrBally's Neon". Or better still, Duke's Neon, with my address. However, that COmpaNy might be on "Credit Hold".....

I added this awhile back to the Bally Factory Photo thread. May as well add it here. The Bally Man/Icon sign with back lit neon. I took this photo in the '70's.

Penticton, BC sure has lots of neon on its downtown strip
    [quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Penticton is my 2nd favorite city in B.C. Awesome place. I always try to spot Oco Poco in Lake Okanagan when I visit.

    Quoted from dirkdiggler:

What's your first? Used to be Vancouver or Victoria for me in mid 90s. Might be Keremeos or Penticton now. My dad loved Osoyoos. Would rent a condo during our cold months (December, January February) cheap. Wife and I are considering it this winter

Kelowna, corner balcony rooms at the Grand Okanagan FTW. I used to go there twice a year.

Yeah, except for the having to hire a guy with a crane on his truck, then figuring out how to transport it safely part...Oh yeah, paying for it kinda sucked too...BUT you are right it's for sure pretty awesome!

    Quoted from electricsquirrel:

I found this one at a flea market.
The price was too good to pass up.
I need to make a frame and get a transformer for it.
I know....it's kind of a weird theme. almost ironic for a pinball room.
but it is a cool shade of blue.
supposedly it came from a department store in Easton PA.[quoted image]
