Wow! I love the coke sign!

Very excited to have picked up this very old neon counter advertising. The owner inherited it from his father. He had never plugged it in. I haven't cracked it open yet but the cloth wrapped cord is frayed. Assuming I rewire the plug how reliable are these ancient transformers?

More reliable then modern ones. Just look for a black tar like substance or oil leaking out of it.
Quoted from jorge5240:Not neon, LED. Unfortunately this looks to be the way of the future. Still a pretty cool sign and I got it for $145

That is pretty intricate and most neon looking led neon sign Ive seen.

I have this one too and it is pretty cool as well.

Think you're right about LED signs going forward. I picked up this California Coors Light one not too long ago. You can see the difference between a real neon on the left to the LED sign on the right.

Whoa, nice! Yeah that is awesome

yeah, the new led neon is cheap and "easy". Neon is freaking expensive if made in the us... I get it but man neon has that lovely glow

Totally agree, nothing beats the glow of a true neon sign!

I have another neon sign on the way. nothing special just an Ebay "ARCADE"
I'm trying to add one every month or so.
Quoted from dirkdiggler:I find led signs too bright
I only have two, Mopar related and they are somewhat on the dim side but then again they are sold for home use not commercial.

That is lovely, Alex!
I can't wait to see it lit up!

O I get it. I have over 60 legit neon signs in my home (check my history) but it is what it is without having custom signs made at this point.
I finished a neon project in my basement and have these signs as extras that don’t have a spot to hang. Offering them for sale to anyone in the Philadelphia area who would have room to hang in their game room.
I ended up with only room to hang 17!

Nice! I'd be interested in the Troegs sign depending on price. I am near Allentown, PA. If you're going to the show in May I could get it there too.

Damn wish I was closer. Any PBR signs get snatched up quickly and for big bucks around here
Been a while since I've checked in this thread, had ~130 new posts, lots of cool neons added. We almost made it the three new pages without an LED sign... (lol)
I recently added a Neon to a location I'm operating some pins at, there was a noticeable increase in quarters in coin boxes after it went up.
I made a cardboard template and used it to cut out the vinyl the location had up over the windows.
Anyone know of a reputable shop in the Los Angeles area that can create a custom neon sign for me?
Seems like everything I am finding is for the new LED "neon" signs, which I don't want.. I know it'll be more expensive, but I would much rather have the old school glass tubes. Just can't beat that glow..
Need a little help lost my glow on a sign during a tournament. Thought a coil smoked on a game but later realized a sign was no longer on. Here is the transformer. Tried to contact neon tech to buy a replacement but no luck getting ahold of them.
Does this one from amazon look like it would work as a replacement?
