Anyone looking to free up some wall real estate and part ways with a Great White / Lost Coast Brewery neon?
College memories keep my nostalgia interests piqued.

Quoted from andyharsh:Here's some of the Neon's I have at my Retro videogame store. The Pac Man sign was custom made in the 80's for a guy that had a massive Pac Man collection. We also have a couple of pretty cool fiberoptic signs as well, the pictured Sega City sign we have in our front window is huge (about 4 ' x 4') and weighs around 80 pounds. Pictures don't really do it justice. It used to hang at the entrance to the Sega City Arcade in Baltimore, and only a few of them were made for 2 or 3 of the other Sega City Arcades as far as I know.

Wow! That Pac-Man neon is BONKERS and your shop looks INCREDIBLE!!! Wish I lived a little closer (4.5 hours away...I looked...Ha-ha!) but I'm keeping it in mind if I'm ever heading East!
I know this is a neon thread but bear with me. Hoping someone here might have once owned and worked on one of these Budweiser clocks or has experience with the LEDs. When I head back east for the holidays my uncle has asked me to look at this sign for him. The LED(s) for the clock aren't working properly. First thought is maybe just a cold solder but figured I'd post here to see if anyone has had experience with these?
Bud sign Larry (resized).jpgWeekend pickup, not one of the knock-offs, this is labelled Dekkers (they do a lot of Heineken marketing). The clear perspex front and the tubular mounts and screws for the clear perspex were included, rear is cracked where they attach though. It even came with the original box!
It was uneven initially, but an hour powered on and it is glowing evenly, and it has dimmable transformer.
I had given up on managing to get an official one, but got lucky with an alert on a sales site and was first to pick up with cash (many enquiries). I also have the official LED neon one, but of course there is just no comparison to the glow of the real thing.
Great to be able to finally post a picture here, I am in awe of some of your collections.
Back in my youth I took over my parents basement and had about 20 neons signs…mostly beer. My lady friend never let me port them to our house, so I ended up selling them all as a lot at a pretty good price.
But today, I made a comeback. She agreed to a non beer sign…a jukebox. So I picked this up today and was like “oh crap…how will I make this work?!” It was a little bit larger than I anticipated…
I’ll post when I’m able to get this thing in the game room and hung!!

Quoted from DruTheFu:Did that come in a giant purple velvet bag??
Unfortunately it did not , but would have been cool if it had.
Quoted from Mikespinball:Just picked this one up. Now I just need to find a place to hang it in the game room.

From Amazon?
I have been thinking about this one.
I purchased it off Ebay. I liked that it had the plastic behind the neon with the lettering on it. Also wanted something new and not used. Was a bit nervous on buying a neon sign that needed shipped, but it came with get packing. Thought I would give it a try anyway and am happy with what came.

My Stern neon came from China via Ebay and it was smashed.
They sent a new one and it was fine but 2 month wait. ..

I got my laserdisc sign up in a temporary gameroom area. Looks nice on, versus packed in a shelf.

That space looks huge how big is it in total?
Cost ballpark?
Had to take one of my neon signs to my local neon repair shop to be fixed. He had this sign in his shop that came in for repair. He was told from the owner that this sign was from a three store restaurant that was in the South back in the 30/40's. The porcelain covering is in beautiful shape. Always like this type of covering on the old signs.
The sign message through, sure wouldn't work in our world today, but to it's uniqueness thought I would share.

Pretty sure those are movie props, not from an actual restaurant, I was under the impression that that restaurant was just made up for the movie, although I certainly remember Sambos, which was not far off.

A little googling and Wikipedia confirms there were 3 actual restaurants in Salt Lake City, Utah; Portland, Oregon and Spokane, Washington that opened between 1929 and 1931. They all closed by 1957.
There was a 2001 movie “Ghost World” that used a poster of the restaurant as a plot device. Maybe a sign as well ? I haven’t viewed the film.
So, given that Hollywood is all about props on the cheap, there is no likelihood (if NEON was in the movie) that it would be a porcelain sign. The sign is most assuredly original to the restaurant but maybe a real sign or THIS ONE was actually used in the film.

Interesting, still would be suspect of the authenticity but interesting none the less.

Boom sha ka la ka!!! It took me like 2 hours, but I got this thing hauled into the basement and hung on the wall. I’m just glad I lined the walls with hickory recently and didn’t have to find studs. Getting this up today was not as bad as I though it was going to be.
I wish it wasn’t hidden slightly by a pin, but what can you do…this light is 4’ by 6’
Still have some cleaning up to do and I’ll build a walnut/hickory box to hide the transformers as well as an acrylic shield so my kids don’t demolish it!! Baby steps…
Quoted from Gundam_Pilot_:I am glad someone else bought this. I didn’t want to have to buy it.
I’m glad I saved you the burden!!

It’s 40x56, you only see about a quarter of it. I started building it in march, traded a pinball for the excavating. I had help with the rafters, spray foam (2.5” in the walls) and my teenage neighbors on the floor. But I worked on it every day. There’s over 50 outlets in total. I’m not sure about the total cost of the materials. Not sure I want to think about it. The other side of the barn is for our second home, her name is Elvira. Here’s a picture of her.

What's your first? Used to be Vancouver or Victoria for me in mid 90s. Might be Keremeos or Penticton now. My dad loved Osoyoos. Would rent a condo during our cold months (December, January February) cheap. Wife and I are considering it this winter

The motel we stayed at was so cheap they offered monthly rentals. I offered cheap Vodka, free pinball (of course I travel with pinball) and nightly happy hr and darts. Waiting on response..

Kelowna, corner balcony rooms at the Grand Okanagan FTW. I used to go there twice a year.
