Love the Rolling Rock neon!!

Can’t wait to finish out a project I am working on so I can get the rest of my neon hung. What you have looks great!
Quoted from poppapin:Love the Rolling Rock neon!!
Thanks, happens to be my go to summer beer and someone local was selling it so of course I had to have it
Quoted from ramegoom:You mention Rolling Rock...

Man, that is so unique. I have seen it somewhere before, but I can't remember what it is... Is it kinda like an old fashioned light bulb concept? If I ever see one local, I'd have to have that too
I own the same waterfall sign, you need to see the water running effect, it’s awesome for a non neon sign.
There’s a Rolling Rock fountain that’s about four foot high that uses real water rolling down a mirror that is also cool. Need to find the pics I have somewhere.
The neon simulates a vacuum tube, from the days gone by, before transistors. "33" is a big debate to what it means.

They say it is either the temp that it is brewed at or the amount of words in there story or something like that. I had that neon years ago and it broke. Would love to get another.

It’s early 20th century typesetters code for “end of paragraph”. The original printer forgot to take it off and they decided to leave it there. And that is the rest of the story...

Aaaaaand I just snagged one on eBay! Thanks a lot, ramegoom! I'll send you the bill!
I can't wait to get it!

That's one of the thoughts but also that 1933 was the year prohibition ended. Keep in mind Rolling Rock came about when the owners (Tito family) took a chance that prohibition would come to an end. So it's thought that they added 33 to mark the end of prohibition.
Quoted from WikiPedia:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The number 33 is printed prominently on all bottles of Rolling Rock. Many have speculated on the significance of the number 33: that the "33" refers to 1933, the founding year of the Pittsburgh Steelers (who hold their annual training camp at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA);[13] that 33 degrees Fahrenheit is the proper temperature to keep beer; the 33 degrees of Scottish Rite Freemasonry; that Latrobe test-brewed 33 batches of beer before coming up with the final formula for Rolling Rock. Other theories concerning the number 33 are that there were exactly 33 stairsteps from the brewmaster's office to the brewing floor in the original Latrobe brewery. Also that the Pennsylvania fish and game commission at the turn of the century numbered the streams within the commonwealth and the water that was used to brew this beer was taken from the stream numbered 33.
The words "Rolling Rock" appear three times on the bottle for a total of 33 letters.
One widely held belief is that it marks the repeal of prohibition in 1933.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
...And the speculation continues.
Looking for these two signs. Not neon but led made by neon tech. I know there are cheapy versions out there but not interested.
I know they are not true neon but go well in heavy traffic area and near my dart board. If anyone has the hook up please let me know.
Thanks,
Mike

Very nice! Love the Ballantine neons. That was my Grandfather's go to beer. He also liked the puzzles that were on the inside of the caps. I still remember him bringing out the bag of caps everry family picnic and everyone trying to guess what the pictograms were saying.
Chris
Those Ballantines are neat...supposedly John Bonhams favorite as well and that’s where his symbol originated from.

I remember the old Ballantine commercials for the Phillies games "Baseball and Ballantine ". My dad drank Schmidt's of Philadelphia! Another brewery no longer in operation.
That vacuum tube sign is neat. Didn't know such a thing existed... will have to passively acquire one. When I get back home ill take a picture of the vacuum tube wall sconce I 3D printed. Its not as big as the beer sign but still looks cool and is not to expensive to build.

Looking good!
Pics do not really do the sign justice....color is more reddish. I am building an NHL original 6 wall. Put up this recycled barn wood (got idea from another pinsider I bought a pin from) and going to do a THE ORIGINA SIX sign at top and then the 6 individual team signs around it. A local guy does amazing work and he will chip away 1 sign at a time every few months when he has time. This is the 1st and anchor of the project.

Picture does not do them justice, my phone does not like taking pictures of anything with led lighting.

Antigo Zeon is located North of you in Antigo, WI. They will probably ship it to you unless you want to make the drive.

That’s one of my favorites! Three-step animation on the golf swing. I had one and foolishly sold it to a buddy who’s big into golf. Figured I would find another...but to no avail so far.

I miss mine.... do you think they sell all the pieces to build one from scratch?
Quoted from Blitzburgh99:I miss mine.... do you think they sell all the pieces to build one from scratch?
Can try but I believe they have some licensing deal as they're technically not allowed to sell a sign to the public.
