That Pegasus is the bomb!
Picked up this yesterday. I'm not into cars but I couldn't resist because of the size. I tore it apart and gave it a good cleaning. It was pretty dingy and grimy from hanging in a warehouse for about 40 years.
No idea on the age but the sign itself is painted porcelain.

That sign is actually worth more in Oklahoma than in Minnesota
Quoted from littlecammi:That sign is actually worth more in Oklahoma than in Minnesota
Any idea what the value is? I do have a good friend into cars and thought he might like this. No idea what it's worth though.
Here is my small neon collection. The "Beer is the Answer" is from the fellow Pinsider who had them commissioned. I just picked up the "Colt 45" from a beer memorabilia show last week. Couldn't pass it up! I bought the "Kiss" off FB a few years ago. Has a made Lithuania in sticker on it. Official... probably not. Looks fantastic though.

Someone posted a neon with Billy Dee Williams and Colt 45, I would not mind having that one.
Kiss is awesome
Would love it as a topper
Finally got an original spuds in a trade after many year search
Happy to have it back
I thought this might interest some folks here. I just made a process post documenting how " The Neon Shop" sign came to be:
http://elephanteater.com/14812
Here are just a few preview images:
This sign was commissioned by MASSIVE Three’s Company fans, Brad and Sandy Czernik. The frequented restaurant in the sitcom was named, “The Regal Beagle.” The only setback in designing this sign based on the restaurant in the show was that a reference image of the restaurant exterior or signage was never filmed (because the restaurant didn’t exist, apart from the interior set), except for one brief clip in which a menu was shown.
Based on this low resolution clip alone, I designed and Josh Goodacre (The Neon Shop - https://www.facebook.com/neon4u2/ ) fabricated this sign for whom we are certain are THE biggest Three’s Company fans on the planet. Congratulations to the Czernik family on their unmatched neon!

Wow, Three’s Company super-fans? The sign is great. I have a great idea for one of these custom neon signs, but I’m cost prohibitive at the moment. One day...
Great Work Ryan.
Here are a few more that I picked up. Burgermeister works fine in green, yellow, and white. Just no transformer handy. Burgie and Lucky are San Francisco brewers that went out of business in the ‘70’s.

I see your a man of good taste (the Coke). That stuff can be hard to find.
Quoted from kuelman:The new light my son got me.
He only gave you that because he had an Extra one laying around.
And Tim Burton fans!!!
I've never used Facebook live stream stuff...Hopefully I can figure it out. If not, hoping the video winds up being on museum's website/youtube channel!
I scored these a few weeks ago.
Gotta get an estimate to repair the miller lite.
Anyone know an approx value if it’s back to working 100% like the pic I’ve attached?
It is approx 3 ft tall and 2 ft wide and has 2 transformers.
Quoted from ultimategameroom:I scored these a few weeks ago.
I've had a few beers at the Village Tavern in the past; did they close down, not just for the ban we have now?
Quoted from ckcsm:I've had a few beers at the Village Tavern in the past; did they close down, not just for the ban we have now?
I was wondering if anyone would recognize that sign.
They closed last fall.

So it appears the border tube is bad.....any other tubes broken?
Obviously the more tubes that are broken the more it cost to fix. These days common neon signs just aren't worth a lot. You can probably find a common neon in working condition for less then what it cost to fix one.
Quoted from Pugsley:Could be a bad transformer. Especially if its a modern solid state one.
Nah, first of all notice the top left of the border ... it's burned and cleared which is usually indicative of a break but most of all notice the "I" in "IT'S" is broken. So at a minimum the IT'S MILLER TIME tube (it's one tube) needs replaced.

I inspected the sign this am and couldn’t find any broken tubes.
Everything attached to the lower transformer is not working.
I unhooked the male/female power cord connection from the upper transformer with the lower and all the neon hooked up to the lower lights up correctly for about a second just as the connection is made then goes out again.
I know prices vary but what’s a ballpark price for single and double transformer neons ?
It’s been many years since I’ve bought one but nice singles used to sell for $95 and double transformers about 95-195 depending on brand/desirability.
This was before the cheap Chinese signs that seem more common these days.
I got all 4 signs for free and even tho I’m not a miller lite guy , I like the neon so I’ll probably get it fixed.
I’m still curious what anyone thinks approx value of this specific sign is if it’s working.
Thank you pinsiders !
Anyone into neon signs I would recommend getting one of the cheap testers .... like ebay.com link: Handheld Neon Tube Lamp LED Tester Portable Fluorescent Bulb Repair Tool TS 990
All it does is send an electrical charge to the antenna on it. You touch the antenna to the tube on the sign and if the tube is good it will illuminate. If the tube is bad it wont. Cheap way of finding whether or not a tube is bad.

Best thing to do is look at the transformer and get the model number off of it and then search on eBay. Buy a used one as it will be cheaper and the odds are ... it will last just as long as a new one. One thing about buying used is .... the leads are already cut so you want to make sure the leads on it are long enough or you will have to splice a piece on.
Out of curiosity who made that neon?

Thank you for the link to the tester !
The Mfg sticker must have fallen off.
The two pics show the only info I can locate.
The Yuengling sign I bought after a tour of the old brewery in Pottsville pa in the mid 1990’s. Dick Yuengling carried it out to my truck which was pretty cool.
I also picked up Godzilla and the fosters neons in the late 90’s.

That Godzilla is badass. Who made that?

There must be a crazy story here- how did you find this? Amazing.
Quoted from truemagoo102:There must be a crazy story here- how did you find this? Amazing.
I think I bought it at Dale's Drum Shop in Harrisburg a few years ago. May have been Interstate Music.
I also bought a huge curved promo Zildjian sign on a metal frame for $11. I know I got that at Dale's during one of their yard sales.

Love,love,love the Godzilla!!
Quoted from jhanley:That Godzilla is badass. Who made that?
There are no markings or stickers on it.
This was what I found after searching online.
I forgot about the tag but remember it after seeing the pic.
Bought mine in the late 1990’s from a pool table/game room store that also sold ....pinball machines.
I think it was $100 which I thought was expensive for the size but I’m glad I bought it.
Godzilla neon is super cool. Tried to find one to buy on the internet, no luck.
Maybe someone like the Neon Shop could make one?
