I'm looking for a Pinsider who has the ability to test and repair (if needed) a Sega jumbo DMD driver board.
Here's what I have:
Mary Shelley Frankenstein with a colorDMD panel. The dmd has proper voltages since I can access the setup menu.
There is a strong 5.03v at the driver board connector. It is new Molex.
The DMD does not show any ROM info at start, its completely blank.

This DMD has never worked in my possession, it's a heavy project. Power supply was recapped. Sega power service bulletin 106 was completed.

ROMs are brand new (could be faulty?)
Board is "supposed to be tested and working"

I realize Coin Op Cauldron can do it, but hes so backlogged. Hoping a pinsider can assess this quicker for some compensation.
Thanks! Kinda stumped. Has to be the driver...??

Quoted from dc2010:

I could test this for you, I also could swap it out as I have a working one , I also have a working large DMD I'd sell or trade, pm me if interested

UPDATE:
pinsider dc2010 took posession of the driver board and tested it. The board was in perfect working order.
Based off my findings in the original post, I was scratching my head.
Back to testing, I then noticed my driver board input voltage was 4.98 volts under load. This is NOT good enough for jumbo DMD drivers.

As a temporary solution I ran jumpers from the gnd and +5v test points on my power supply and VIOLA! the color DMD came to life.

Moral of the story: if you own a Sega DMD, jumbo or regular, check that 5v power supply!!!
