I sold my DE Tommy to a buyer in Chicago (Wrigley area). Now the game isn't holding it's settings. The battery holder was sporadic in the past but now is the culprit I'm sure. I'd like to get someone in the area to install an NVRAM in his board to fix the issue once and for all...that's four hours from here, so would like some local help. I told him I'd pay for it. Please advise if you're in the area and can help a fellow pinhead out.

Thanks,

Hogey

They post here from time to time and have a great reputation. Not sure if they do on site service calls.

Two great Chicagoland area pin repair guys:

Rick at http://www.ricksgamerepair.com/

Gavin at https://www.yelp.com/biz/gavins-game-service-schaumburg

Rick is my absolute go-to guy for pin and vid repair.

I've met Gavin and I know he has a great reputation, but I've never personally used him.

Not knocking Gavin (I have many friends that have used him and say he's great too), but I know for a fact and personal experience that you can't go wrong with Rick.

Just my opinions.

Looks like it's just plug n' play.

The chip appears to already be socketed, so just pop it out and replace with a new one.

Also, pretty cool that you offered to pay for it, since usually, once it's gone, it's gone.

I recommend Gavin as previously mentioned.

I can personally vouch for him.

I have friends that used Gavin but I personally had a hard time setting him up as he was difficult to stay in communication with. I had to keep hounding him down. Rick from Rick’s Game service is awesome. He gets back to you immediately and is reliable. I’ve used him many times. Kurt from Hemispheres is also very easy to get a hold of. I’ve dealt with him many times before too and if he’s busy will probably direct you to Rick.

Awesome. Thank you all so much. I will look through these and reach out. Great pin community here. Glad to be a part of it.

Thanks,
