I may have a chance to buy a high speed or a space station. which one would you pick, and what are your opinions of it. Thanks. I'm leaning towards the HS, but would love to hear what others have to say. thanks.

Would love to help but I have never played space station. It is hard to go wrong with HS tho....

High Speed! How much for them? Maybe buy both if you can.

#4 12 years ago

I would say HS, can't say I have much experience on either, however.

Gotta go with T_G here...

Now this is the idea and situation I would be shooting for...that way you start with two and don't have to become frantic in a month wanting your second Pin.

Never play Space Station but looks decent. Owned a HS for a brief time and wasn't a huge fan. I would go with Space Station as they made alot less(around 14,000 less) and seems to be a decent game. Would like to see the GI lights change during multiball...cool feature!

I have owned both, and kept Space Station. Both are solid games.

I played both games a lot back in high school. Space Station is one of those underrated System 11 games that doesn't get brought up much. It's a fun game with some cool music. I'd go for the Space Station.

I wish I had the chance to play Space Station looks like a pretty fun pin with a well designed playfield.

Looks like there aren't a lot of folks with experience on a Space Station - add my name to that list as well. I did own a High Speed - and I can highly recommend it. It's credited with helping to 'save' pinball in he mid 80's, and the list of 1sts is very impressive:

First pinball to play a complete song.
First Williams pinball game to use alpha-numeric displays.
First use of Auto Percentaging (for replay scores).
First Jackpot available only during multiball.
First use of broken switch compensation programming.
First SS game with operator report.
First use of credit dot (malfunction indicator).
It was also the first to have a multiball jackpot that grew and held-over game to game.

High Speed's a classic. This > Space Station

High Speed is awesome.
It has that early Grand Theft Auto feel to it.
I like the 3rd flipper to access the highway ramp, and hitting all the signals can be a challenge.

High Speed would be my choice for sure.

Thanks for the input guys. I wish i could just get them both.

Yep.... High Speed hands down! I actually prefer it even over the sequel!

I thought Space Station was blah - didn't suck but didn't stand out either....
