I wonder if the Outhole Relay isn't holding on. The outhole switch should engage the Outhole Relay, which has a switch on it that pulls in the Ball Release coil under the apron. Since the coil tries to pull in for a second, maybe the Outhole Relay is dropping out prematurely? There should be a switch on it that's meant to hold it on, usually through a switch on the score motor. The coil is right according to the Student Prince manual, so if it's not the Outhole Relay, maybe not enough voltage is reaching the coil?
