I have a work shop with excellent lighting, but I don't always want to drag games in there if they only need a few "quick" things. The lighting in the gameroom area of the basement sucks for working on games.

What do you guys use for lighting when working on your games? I have a couple cheap lights, but they're not that bright and they have a narrow enough focus that I feel like I'm blocking it half the time when I do anything in the game.

Any advice or links would be appreciated.

If you want a cheap option, pick up a clip-on gooseneck lamp from Walmart and a 75w daylight white 5000k led bulb, 1000-1200 lumens.

When you actually clip it to things, fold up a microfiber towel to protect the surface from scratches or indents.

If you want to upgrade your existing lighting, what fixtures do you currently have?

Look for led bulbs at 5000k daylight and high lumens. That will light up a room very well as long as the fixtures are decently placed.

Ive been pleased with rechargeable LED Work lights Ive found on Ebay.
Some are flashlights, some are magnetic, or with stands and hooks.
Lots to pick from under $10.

I even keep one that has an extending, flexible goose neck that gets light in those tight places.

Corded lights started making me crazy with raising and lowering....

I rarely use stationary work lights for close-up or confined space work any more since buying one of these:

Something similar to this, stick it on the rails of the pin magnetically with a magnetic tray and you're set!

Wow, lots of good options already. Thanks for the feedback. I'll start looking into these.

Definitely not looking to upgrade room lighting. We have a sweet finished basement, and the lighting is what we want, other than for working on pins. The workroom has the lighting I need for working on games, I just want something portable to setup on/at a game when I don't want to move things into the workroom.
