Hi I'm trying to fix this machine for a friend .I'm more familiar with wpc era games. so any help would be appreciated , I have an mpu board with acid damage.
and led steady on. machine wont boot gi is fine. I would like to bench test it. but I don't know what needs to be powered up to allow it to fire up.
is it just 5v? or do I need others ?. I know I could buy a replacement allteck board. but It seems like a good learning exercise. thanks

Here's the update. First that pinwiki is really through. I removed the rotten battery. And tried to neutralize the acid by scrubibg the board with backing soda. Then I checked some continuity and found there was none on chip u11. So I removed it and sure enough it was corroded. So I replaced the socket and cleaned the chip. Board is now blinking as it should. Ill be trying it in the machine tomorrow.
Now can someone tell me how to put the machine on free play. Thanks

Thanks i put the board in and it now boots. But the coin door and start switch still didn't work. After close inspection the j3 on the mpu harness plug is corroded. And will need to be replaced. Im not sure of the size of that plug. Are they .156? They look smaller.. on the free game front it looks like someone wired in a switch to act as the coin switch. Thanks again.
