I've got a system 80b board that wasn't booting. It had a battery leak a little bit. I cleaned the corrosion off and there didn't appear to be any significant damage that I could see after cleaning it so I decided to try using the test rom to see if it would work after cleaning only.

I've attached a video below of the board booting using the pinitech adapter and the marco rom. The instructions for the rom are at https://www.pinitech.com/docs/sys80_univtester_marco_instructions.pdf

The board seems to do the 1 long flash, 1 short flash, 2 short flashes, 3 short flashes, and 4 short flashes as it should. It then seems to loop back and doesn't seem to do the IO tests. I've looked at PB0-7 on U4 and they are all high instead of being low like the instructions say. I also looked at PA0 on U6 and it was high as well and not pulsing.

I guess my question is what should the rom do after the 4 short flashes. Should the LED stop blinking at that point? It shouldn't look back through the initial memory tests correct? If that's the case what could be going wrong here?

It is looping...what happens after removing the second 24 pin eprom? Is this a gamerom or the extended testrom?

I removed the eprom from PROM1 just now and it now goes into the IO test as it should. I was under the impression that I didn't have to remove that and only needed to do the jumper. Thank you for the help Marco and thank you for your work on the software.

You are welcome...nice to read some feedback. What actually happened here....the testprogram scans for the presence of the extended testrom by comparing the first address with $55. If it "sees" this value it will execute the extended tests. However, system80B gameroms also have $55 at their address. The testprogram validates $55 and then tries to execute some unexpected code from the gamerom which crashes the testprogram.....
