Here's the back story: I had a wire pop off the rotating Capt heads jaw coil in my Party Zone. It hit a switch and shorted the switch matrix. I pulled the IC at U20 and socketed and replaced it.
Now I have all the switches back except column 6 and 8. Those two columns will not work. All other switches are working correctly. Everything else is working correctly.
I'm hoping someone more technical can point me in the right direction. Did I fry another IC as well? It's like the cpu can't read those returns.

Thanks Lloyd. Referring to the U18 and U19s?

Could it also be a faulty 374 in U14? This is like a predriver correct?
Without a logic probe, it's a guessing game as to whether there is no signal to the column or it has a signal that's not getting read.

There is the U20 in common that is the 2803. But yes I have replaced more LM339 than those. I'll try to remember to come back and look better tomorrow and see if there is a 339 in common. This old man is at bed time.

Actually, I think it is U20

I actually replaced U20. It was definitely fried. That revived most of the switches. Still have 2 columns not registering. (6 & 8 )

Waiting for parts to arrive.
Anyone else have any ideas to add?

UPDATE: Party Zone is now fixed! I went with a hunch and socketed and replaced U14 which essentially drives the chip in U20. Works like a charm now. Hope this can help anyone else with a shorred switch matrix in a WPC game.
Thanks all who cotributed!
