ok got the bright idea to try to hook a shaker motor up on my whirlwind, but am having some issues. I bought this relay:
https://www.amazon.com/ELK-PRODUCTS-ELK912B-RELAY-MODULE/dp/B004HNB4ZQ/ref=sr_1_3
my plan was to hook it up to the spinning motor on the playfield so that when the spinning motor activated so would the shaker motor. when the spinning motor activates the game immediately stops and resets, so I am guessing the relay is dropping the voltage so much from the 25 volts that it is causing an error.
I am wondering what would happen if I hook up the pos relay input to a pos 12 volts and hook the negative input to the ground of the spinning wheels. this way the voltage would not drop over the 25 volt input on the dc motor but would allow the 12 volt to ground the relay input thereby activating the relay switch to send power to the shaker motor. Will this work, do I need to put a diode on the back ground wire off the relay input? see diagram of special solenoid.
