I have a couple system 80b games and I cant get one of them to power the display. The display itself is good as I swapped them between the 2 games. The fuses are good and the ground mods have been done etc. EVERYTHING works except the displays. Any ideas are appreciated

Clean the male side of the display connector on the MPU.
Every pin must be working.

Thanks Chris, yeah I did that with alcohol and pencil eraser and made it shiny, did that for all of them.

Good going.
Have you checked the power to the display?

Yeah the fuse is good but there is no power going directly to the display. I hit the other (working) machine with a MM and got 40v +/- and on the game in question nada to the display board. It isn't that connector as I swapped those too to test. I was thinking it could possibly be the big power transformer in the bottom but don't know how to test it properly. I am so-so on the troubleshooting but this game is the first to make me scratch my head. Is there something to check on the MPU specifically. Thanks again Chris

You've really completed the diagnosis. Now you need to track down why there is no power.
I fixed one of these a while back where the power trace on the back of the display board was burned off. Remove the board and examine it.

Will do , thanks. Is there anything I should check in the bottom of the cabinet? BTW I really like your collection. My son LOVES Orbitor 1.

Well I have tried everything, the display board is fine on the back and I am just not getting power to the displays period. Might it just be the transformer? Kinda at a loss on this one

I don't know which game this is but in a Bounty Hunter schematic (which is also 80B), there are 3 other connectors to look at. A2J2-3 on the power supply is where the display board gets the 5VDC. The other 2 connectors (A12J2/P2 & A12J3/P3) are down at the transformer that supply/return voltage and ground to the display board.

It is for a Genesis, I will give those a look and see. Thanks
