    Hello all
I am restoring a 1947 bally heavy hitter.one of the coils in the backbox has for lack of another word has puked out all of the windings. I need to get a replacement and i have contact PBR with no luck.

The only markings on the coil is 29e. There is another coil in the back box with the same markings, does anyone have a clue to determine what coil I need? Any help would be grateful.

    thanks

I checked my box of weird old coils and nothing marked 29e.

Here are pics of the coil. Both are labeled 29e. Hope this helps someone and me in the end. If you need anymore info, please let me know. I am not sure what this assembly controls as the game was in sad shape before i started the restore.

Do you know the coil voltage in that machine? If the transformer terminals are not marked as to voltage, I believe Bally was using 50 volt coils at that time.

It would help if you could unsolder a wire from the coil terminal and measure the resistance of the coil itself. Any chance you could measure the length of the coil?

Voltage not on transformer. I will measure and check resistance and post soon.
    Thanks

I measured the coil. It is 1 inch long and about 1 inch in diameter. Resistance reading is 29.5 ohms.
I checked the puked out coil and a good coil, same readings.

Try Joe Shope in Utah. He has a good knowledge of old Bally games, and loads of spares.
