I have an Outer Space I am shopping and the AS relay on the bottom side of the playfield for the lights for the spinner is screwed up. Actually it looks like someone has been trying their hand at a hack but was done badly. There are several wires that are cut and then reconnected elsewhere or not connected at all.

All I want is to get this back to normal. Pictures are below.

What I have done is map what I could of the jones plugs to where the wires appear to be connected properly as well as identify a possible landing point for the hacked wires. The right wiper board is identified as the wiper board on the right with the pins of the plugs facing you and the natural position of the relay itself laid square on the table as shown in the picture. The left wiper board is the left board as viewed from this position.

What I would like to see is what the wire color mapping is for the left board. This is where the wires are hacked on this game. If at all possible I would like to go over the wire mapping for this relay with someone on the phone while they buzz out the wiring on their unmolested Outer Space or Orbit.

Thanks for any help.

A simpler starting point would be a picture of the side of your Spinner AS relay to see if I could figure out where the loose wires are supposed to land.

Anybody have an Orbit or Outer Space?

Pin-it,

That would be great. Would you please plan on it?

I would really appreciate it.

Pin-it,

Can I ask you for two other pictures if you have access?

There are two relays that have modified wiring. Nothing drastic but modded nonetheless. Would you please take pictures of the "E" and "M" relays showing the wires that are attached? The E relay is in the body on the main relay board so this one would be visible once you have lifted up the playfield. The M relay is in the head and is the 100 relay.

Again, if easy enough.

Thanks again.

Pin-it,

Those pictures are great. You're the best.

I'll work on getting the wiring on these relays back in order and post back here in a week or so.

Don't hesitate to let me know how I can return the favor.

Pin-it,

I am following up to let you know that I got my AS relay wired back to where it is supposed to be. I've manually actuated it and the lights track where they are supposed to.

I still have an issue where it doesn't drive well through the inputs it gets from the game. Will probably have to rebuild the ratchet components with new.

Your pictures were exactly what I needed and I am very grateful for your help. Thank you.
