Agreed, the pins shouldn't be on the list until they get at least 3-5 ratings imo.

em guys don't need to be told by others which games to like....

Be patient guys the EM list was only started a while back.

Hey now, I have rated 10 EMs. I need to get on down to the PHOF someday, then I can at least triple that amount.

And I do agree that it should be at least 3 ratings in order to qualify for the Top 100.

Anyone know why all of his reviews have been stricken from ipdb?

This was a decision made by Robin, as he said if he waited until there were more ratings, there still would be no list yet. He will move out the rating required as the DB grows.

I think he withdrew them in protest,
because of others rigging the ipdb ratings
by "stuffing the ballot box" using bogus UserIDs
and either giving ultra high ratings (All 10s for games they liked)
or if they did not like a game, purposely devaluing the rating by giving it all 1s.
though i think he is posting on ipdb.org, under another pseudonym now, g61z7 .

g61z7 is not him as that person also wishes Bruce Moyer would post again on IPDB.

I like g61z7's, he's a pretty tough rater and tend to agree with him/her/it.

And now we have a new #1...Dancing Dolls! And with a score of 10, it may be there for awhile...or at least until someone else rates it.

It's a subjective thing and the ratings would tend to average out if everyone rated all the games. But there are just so many games that I haven't played, so can't rate them. Dancing Dolls is very cool, but a 10? I've never played a game I'd call a 10.

Well I think g61z7, at the very least has a close association with Bruce.
There was one pin rating review,
where he (g61z7) almost comes to blows with some other rater from Argentina
about some pin that "Bruce" had previously given a game a low rating
because of its depiction of gun violence; and g61z7 very vigorously defends Bruce.
I can't recall the pin's name right now , might have been Cosmic Gunfight.
He (Bruce and/or g61z7) certainly claims to have played many pingames.
Also I have noticed recently that g61z7 has altered a lot of his old rating reviews lately ,
by deleting his comments, ratings are still there, but comments removed.
Maybe his account has been hacked.

I always liked to read Bruce's and g61Z7's ratings. Often they could be fairly predictable. Bruce as you say was a huge fan of the double match award. g61z7 often says something along the lines of great looker, so so player. What I do like about them is they seemed to have played a lot of the games I am interested in. I feel my pinball interest is a little outside the norm of what most pinheads are attracted to. So just to read comments from educated players on games I like is fun for me.

I agree, ratings with comments to back them up are much better and more useful
than a rating without comments.
But go to ipdb.org now and look at g61z7 ratings now,
all the comments from his ratings have recently vanished.

Also i have lost some respect for g61z7 ,
when he has rated some games with all 1s
for pins that obviously do not deserve such.
Something fishy going on, imho.

Resurrecting this old thread to happily report there has been considerable movement by way of many new ratings in the EM top 100! Thanks to all of you who have added your ratings and comments. The more 'accurate' it becomes, the more valuable a resource as well. Some of those titles I have never played nor considered owning. It will provide a good source of research for future purchases and at the least, interest in playing at a show.
