I’m about to have my hands on a vacuum formed part to a play field that is not reproduced and most likely will not be, this particular part is probably 15“ long x 15“ wide x 3“ tall.

I would like to reproduce it with 3-D printing, but I think I’d like to have it scanned first, as I don’t have much experience with 3-D cad manipulating programs.

    Any advice out there?

My guess is the U.N Orion from "Transporter: The Rescue".

May be easiest to either hire somebody that's experienced with Blender or something similar to do the 3D model, or see if there's anybody local that might have a scanner. Should be plenty of places/people that can handle that. Would be a fun project to try.

Trickier is going to be finding a printer with a big enough bed. They're out there but not common. Alternatively, the model can be done to print in multiple pieces which would make it a lot easier and more friendly to common and smaller printers.

This is super old, but I'd try a DIY vacuum forming rig to make a ramp with PETG. 15" isn't that big and you could heat the PETG in a standard-size oven. Build the mold by packing clay or something into the ramp, then flip that onto your homemade vacuum platform and mold the hot PETG sheet over that. Might take a few tries, but should give a reasonable ramp. The prep of the vacuum platform and getting the clay molded into the ramp will be the most time-consuming parts.
