I need a nylon gear roughly a half inch wide (i think 22 teeth) replicated since the teeth on the original are stripped. Does anyone know of a service (or does anyone here have the equipment and know-how) that could measure the gear dimensions, replicate it in CAD software and print it? How much would this cost?

    Thanks!

How complicated is the gear? Just a disc with teeth? Or, does it have cutouts and varying heights in the middle?

Another option you may want to check out first before going this route. Run to the nearest hobby shop that sells RC cars and Trucks. They normally have a pretty large assortment of gears. If you're lucky there may be one there that works or can be modified to work.

The gear is a perfect circle, the one side is melted.

Once you get it modeled, you can use a service like shapeways to print it: https://www.shapeways.com/

They have super-expensive $200k and up high-end printers that can print beautifully and strong in many kinds of material, including metal.

But yeah, the RC-shop suggestion first is a good one. I'd try that before modeling a new one.
