Bumping a very old thread. Recently acquired an NBAFB. Has this exact behavior.
Have everything now working outside of this and a rollover switch (from memory, switch 38: right loop exit) that’s waiting on a new switch.
Looks like the two share a connector. Have been traveling today so I haven’t yet had a chance to inspect anything.
Any suggestions?
Documenting my fix should someone else run into this thread with the same issue.
I noticed that the drive connection for the backbox flipper was J117. Examining the board, there was nothing plugged in. I didn't see anything else being driven from that connector (only VIO-BLK in J117-3) and I saw a single-wire connector plugged into J118. A quick scan of the manual didn't show anything plugged into J118 and that connector had a single VIO-BLK wire. I plugged that connector into J117, powered up the game, and all solinoids are now testing just fine.
Now I just need to wait for the Comet (LEDs) and Marco (replacement switch) order to come in.
