Hello Everyone. For this Christmas I couldn't resist buying my first pinball machine: NBA Fastbreak. Arrived on December 23, it stopped working on the evening of 24 ... I hope you can help me.

The main problem lies in the Ball Through, which does not emit the ball when it has to. Carrying out the tests (from the coin door) it seems that the coil and the plunger do not go at all. By touching it lightly and pushing the plunger, it starts to work again for a while and then stops again after few minutes.

The second problem is related to audio. When I activate some coil during the game, strange sounds come out, the music stops working or the speakers emit loud noises. The problem does not seem to be related to any particular coil.
Sometimes, during a game, at 0 volume the music started and then disappeared again.
The audio problem did not arise immediately, but when the first problem appeared. Are probably connected?

Below you can find 2 videos of described problems:

Both problems make the pinball machine unusable ... ruining my Christmas holidays.

Hope you can help me.

Try running the switch test for problem #1, it might have something to do with ball eject switch being stuck on:

For problem #2 try reseating the ribbon cables in backbox which go from the CPU board (on the left side of backbox) to Audio/video board (the upper one on right side).

Also please post a photo of your CPU board. It might have some battery leakage damage.

Hey K
Make sure that the rubber grommet is installed on the ball trough bracket and used as the plunger rest. Missing grommet will cause erratic operation. https://www.pinballlife.com/tan-rubber-grommet.html

Thank you for replies!!!
Wally You are right. There are two missing grommet as shown in photo: one on the ball trough bracket and the other one on the Autofire Assembly.
I've run test on the ball throug as shown in video. At the beginning it won't move but after a little push on the plunger it started to work.

A clue could be that after the tests I played a game. The music and the ball trough worked for a while but as soon as the ball trough stopped working the music stopped too.

Can a missing rubber grommet make all this mess? (hope so)

moreover, during the tests, problems due to the two EOS switches emerged. Is it dangerous not to have them (as you can see in photo) or does it not matter?

you can find some photos taken at the backbox and at the back of the playfield.

If you notice anything else that may lead to problems in the long run, please let me know.

Thank you for your support.

The end of stroke switches are very bent out of shape and the wrong ones. They should be normally open low power type switches and close to tell the fliptronics circuit it's closed; if they aren't correct though the game compensates so the flippers don't burn up. (and throws an error, as you noted)

Your board looks like it's had some questionable prior re-work, there's lots of flux someone didn't remove on some of the components, flux is sticky and can attract coil dust which can be conduction - not desirable. At a minimum this should be cleaned off.

Here I am with a new problem on my FB. As you may have noticed from my previous videos the DMD display of my FB had serious problems (many rows and columns burned). For this reason I bought a used DMD display. Before buying it, however, I wanted a test from the seller who showed me how all the rows / columns were OK.
But as soon as I mounted it I noticed the problem shown in the video ...

Basically the first line does not turn on completely. The really strange thing is that during the game it sometimes lights up completely, which means that the line works/not burned, and then return to give the problem shown.
My doubt is that the problem could be the video card of the FB.
Is it possible somehow?
could capacitors or resistors get something into it?
I have tried to check the various connectors and they are all connected correctly.
