Joined the club yesterday with a nice HUO from teddyb73 ... and seemingly embarking on another pin project that doesn't seem to have been done yet. Anyone else tried converting their Nascar to a Talladega Nights pin?

Looking into it, my options seem to be Pinsound or Pinball Browser for changing up the audio...

Quoted from KingBW:

10. If it is a definite keeper - Pinsound. Anyone do that yet? Changing some sounds and music would probably be a good upgrade.
11. If #10, then upgrade speakers and connect to a sub. I've read it's not worth it otherwise.

I just did this, added Pinsound Plus and a set of Flipper Fidelity speakers. Currently I loaded with the default sounds package (there are no custom ones for Nascar to my knowledge). I'm working on a Talladega Nights sounds compilation and minor re-theme. Speaking of which, if anyone has info on printing translites please PM me!

According to the Stern service bulletin, this is the upgraded bracket without the old ROMs as part of the kit:

Guess I need to check my game to see if it's bending. Supposedly new code revisions even into 4.x adjusts that coil power so it is less wear and tear on the bracket.

Sweet find! Nice to see it getting a quality shop job after all these years. Should look brand new after that level of teardown. It’s a fun pin!

PS. You might need the stronger garage coil bracket, it was a redesign fix.

I installed pinsound and have a few samples of Talladega Nights audio on my NASCAR, but I’ve been busy with other stuff and haven’t dedicated the time to it, but it’s on the project list. Hah I chose not to go the pinball browser route because of the sound length and quality limitations trying to fit it in the roms.

Also need to find some place that can do quality translite prints, and maybe stickers... I saw one TN translite sample at a recent pinball show, but it was all washed out and looked pretty bad.

Anyone else interested in working on the sound replacements, I’d be happy to collaborate, maybe via Slack or something?

Ricky Bobby conversions!

I've been working on a Pinsound mix for this, albeit very slowly, anyone else? I've seen a translite too, but it wasn't a quality print. I can't be the only one modding Nascar to a Talladega Nights??

Question is, LCD or LED with this pin? I usually go LCD because the different display style options.

Quoted from pinmister:

Not really a re-theme but more of a 'add on'
For the last five years I have wanted to mod a Nascar into a Talladega Nights. Not sure how far I will take it but a fellow pinsider is helping with an alternate translight, and I want to do some custom call-outs, etc. Fortunately the Nascar title has not jumped in pricing like other titles and $3000 seems to be par for HUO and routed machines. Seems like the price has not changed for a decade? I figure why not let Ricky Bobby come home-'If your not first-your last!'
If anyone has a nice Nascar or can help with alternate cabinet art/plastics-please let me know
Shake N' Bake!

This is actually one of my (backburner) projects I'm working on as well. So far I've got a pinsound installed and some sound bites changed, but have plans to do the translite/stickets/cars/etc as well. PM me details on the translite, I'd be interested in buying one if the quality of the print is good. I've seen one before, it was poor quality when lit.
