Seems easy, but remember, you have to show that the band is still relevant TODAY.

So don't name The Village People, The Beatles or Zep, because none of those bands have released any new material in 40-50 years.

Rules to have your vote counted:

1. Bands must still be touring, but don't post any bands that are only touring on golden oldies.

2. Band must still be releasing charting albums of new material, not "best of" or "live" compilations.

3. Name any dead members

4. We have to draw the line somewhere, so let's say "new material" constitutes albums released in the last ~4 years.

5. Of course, list only one band per post, so we can count the upvotes.

Somehow I bet The Pretenders are still relevant, even though I have never known anyone in my life to actually listen to them at any time.

The depth of field is totally messed up.

They probably all shot their parts in different cities, then someone edited it together to make them look like a band.

It's got cowbell though!

This newer BOC video is pretty good; definitely shot better

Somebody mentioned Priest already - how about Black Sabbath / Heaven & Hell since Dio passed. Amazing the original 4 guys are still around though.

Also Maiden. Clive Burr (original drummer on the first 3 albums) passed several years ago. Those first 2 albums plus Motörhead are the soundtrack to middle school for me.

Has Queen released any new material in the last 4 years?

Mayhem - Daemon 2019
Per Yngve Ohlin
Øystein Aarseth

Not my kind of music and belief but the story about this band is among the craziest out there, portrayed in the film biography Lords of Chaos, buckle up for madness and idiocy.

Kiss
Eric Carr
Mark st. John

Deep Purple

They lost Jon Lord, still touring and rocking. Last album "whoosh!" came out in 2020.

Hell..in my opinion this band has a lot more cool rocking songs than Led Zeppelin. Deep Purple pinball would have been great

Clutch.

Last album 2018.

Deceased former member, Mick Schauer, contributed on two albums.

NIN - ward

GWAR

Dave Brocke ( “Oderus” Singer )
Cory Smoot ( “Flattus” Guitar )

They lost a lot of their soul when Dave died and Cory was amazing. I’ve seen them almost every time they’re in the area since 1990, and it’s always a great time.

I don’t think they ever charted, but they got nominated for 2 Grammys. Last release was in 2017 and they’re still touring.

You could almost give them a 2nd listing as Argent reunion too!
