I am curious who ? Barry Engler is back at AP after the old Gottlieb guy left, Steve Z and Ken Holland with jjp, Jim Thorton with CGC, Stern's names are out there.
$10K+, new game, new company. I'd just like to know who, and maybe pictures of the inside, boards and such. Maybe a downloadable manual to read to, assuming a new operating system.
I have four jjp games that could be sold or traded. This game looks great. I'd just like to know a little more before going for one.

Multimorphic with their Cannon Lagoon module
Quoted from cait001:time for a zipper-flipper mod!
Careful. Zipper flippers on a game like this could result in some bulge altering consequences
Quoted from gambit3113:My wife is the biggest Labyrinth fan I know or know of. We have a giant Labyrinth Mondo poster framed over the bed. Our welcome mat is the little ‘ello worm. Seriously. That said, she hasn’t said one thing about no Sarah. Bowie and the muppets. That is all that matters. She said it needs to be here. She didn’t ask how much it cost, she doesn’t care that the gameroom is full. “Well, we have to have that.” That’s the directive.
Amen brother. Are we married to the same woman? lol

I think that with the Fast boards you should be good on customer service for at least those. Now when things on the playfield are getting screwed up or the playfield has issues, then I have concerns as well. I hope they stand by their product regardless of what their “warranty” says. The market wont stomach botched playfields from a new company again. JJP has been lucky on this front with the problems they had.
Still hoping for the best and that you can get your answers and make room for what all appearances show to be a good looking game.

Aussie Pinball Podcast released an interview with David van Ess regarding Labyrinth and Barrels of Fun.
Quoted from fastpinball:I'd love to hear what you think about our FAST documentation or if you see anything that could be improved upon!
Just started studying your website on the link you posted.
I already like that. Well laid out and good explanation of what is there and which way it goes. Better than some of the manuals ( or non manuals ) out there.
Thank you !

Gotta give credit where it is due here. This looks like a complete package with legit art, sound, code. Very detailed sculpts that are not 3D printed. They made games before they announced. They picked up a half decent IP. This is all impressive for a new company. I am not really concerned about the company name...what they are showing is that they actually have their shit together.

I'll be at Expo on Friday. If I can get a look under the hood, I'll let you know.

Also: one edition available with art blades and fancy sculpts already, and immediately you can order the alternate mirrored backglass, topper, and shooter rod, and make it extra fancy.
I appreciate that model.
I'm tempted to just buy an alternate backglass for the wall.

That is up to the Barrels of Fun crew, but you are more than welcome to come by the FAST booth and check out the platform itself.

I hope they bring many, the mob around this game will be crazy and I assume the lines will be loooong
Welp, LOVE the fact that David Bowie is in a game, yet there's not just a concert around him.
Many, many goblins. Also check.
Well integrated lower LCD. Check!
Fresh company with designers that want to MAKE change happen, and actually do it! Check!!
Incredible playfield design that makes sense as an organism, an actual physical structure, and isn't just random items, characters, close-ups dropped in. Check!
One direct model, no mussin' around. Check!
Friggin' Goblin Head Topper baaaaby! CHECK!
LTG seems impressed. Check!!!
Looks like I'm jumping into the Labyrinth, have BARRELS OF FUN, and as a first time buyer with ZMeny too! )))

Yep, getting confident about support and the build consistency is my biggest hurdle. Game looks cool. But even for Spooky on Rick & Morty there were ball guides that had to be relocated to get it to shoot smoothly on a lot of machines. For a 1st time company making a game it would be a big accomplishment to have production go well. I'm hoping they can pull it off though.
Only 1100 units doesn’t allow a chance to play it first, think about it, see the hardware, code or anything. Wish it would be a larger number available
Quoted from SpyroFTW:Start one!
I just tried to. Wasn't able to due to a game name not being in the database yet.
Quoted from SpyroFTW:I don’t understand why it matters if Sarah isnt in the game. You are playing that part.
To me, it’s a bit like if Dorothy wasn’t in WoZ or if Bilbo was left out of the Hobbit.
I get that there can be licensing difficulties, especially for a new company getting their first license, so it’s not going to prevent me from liking the game, or blame them if this is the choice they had to make the game happen. But I think anytime you base a game on a story and you leave out the entire protagonist it’s going to feel like a glaring omission.

Definitely wouldn’t be the same if Dorothy or bilbo weren’t in their games. Would be better if Sarah was in it, but we’ll see what the code looks like first and then decide. Game looks cool though

I think 1100 is a lot. Its more than I figured it would be limited to. For those lucky enough to go to expo, they will get to play it. There will be videos from potato phones for the rest of us plebs
Quoted from konghusker:Only 1100 units doesn’t allow a chance to play it first, think about it, see the hardware, code or anything. Wish it would be a larger number available
1100 is a ton of machines for a brand new company. I know it’s getting a great reaction, but I’d be surprised if this was hard to get in the next few months (I say this having ordered one within first couple minutes of trailer).
Hard not to be excited about this game. Topper and art integration look fantastic. Well done.
Simply have to try before I buy. No knock on them…just can’t make that leap of faith right now.
Hopefully they sell out and have their costs and quality control dialed in, because I can’t wait to see what else they have up their sleeves in the future.

Well.... it's FAST (easy programming)...... so doesn't that mean someone can pinball browser her ass back into the game were it belongs?

I started one and will just link the game when it is in the DB.

Quiet PinStalker or you will force them to put a kill switch on it like Spooky had to after people kept talking ‘bout plans to swap Halloween/Ultraman code.
I totally understand those who are upset Jennifer isn’t in the game.
This won’t be labyrinth the movie, for me that’s perfectly ok because it lets me visit Labyrinth and fight the golblin king for others it may be a let down.
I’d much rather them go this route then have jennifer and not bowie though.
Quoted from BallyKISS1978:If your doing a pin based on a movie and the protagonist is not in it, and a ton of movie clips can’t be pulled from to use because she is in the majority of the movie is a huge miss. Like a music pin not having the bands actual music. Or a Star Wars pin with no movie clips or call outs. It takes away from the game a lot for some.
If your good without it more power to you. But for my wife, daughters, and me is a huge miss. They felt the same way about Aliens, but again they finally added Ripley. Not having her did not feel like the movie experience but a generic Alien game.
Edit And Jaws will be a big disappointment for me also without movie assets and the three protagonist.
Makes perfect sense to exclude her. You are the one in the maze, not her.
Quoted from JPloof:I wonder if we can get in Canada? I don’t see Nitro on the distributor list yet?

Quoted from SpyroFTW:I don’t understand why it matters if Sarah isnt in the game. You are playing that part. Same for the baby, even though he is in the backglass. Its just a baby. Are there not movie rights for the game? They used them in the promo vid. I think it looks fantastic!
Missed this. Spot on and I agree.
Quoted from SDVmnt:That's like saying Halloween is garbage because Loomis's voice isn't real.. Who Gaf.
Gandolph in hobbit is a voice actor and I don’t know any different. Doesn’t bother me at all. Games just need to have certain characters in specific movie themes to get the best possible theme integration imo. Hopefully Sarah is in video clips, but if not, it could be done similar to a Jurassic Park style game possibly. It has Bowie though, and that is a must
Quoted from Oaken:Quiet PinStalker or you will force them to put a kill switch on it like Spooky had to after people kept talking ‘bout plans to swap Halloween/Ultraman code.
Oh-oh, right-right
From the podcast, David said they have 10 games ready for expo, 10 on line with 10 behind that. CPR is making the playfields. Sarah is not in the game in any way (justified this by saying it’s your adventure not hers). Will have internet connectivity for updates. Was impressed by what he had to say, sounds like they doing it the right way as a new company.
Quoted from konghusker:Gandolph in hobbit is a voice actor and I don’t know any different.
Well, yeah you don't know any different! You can't even spell Gandalf!!!!!!!!
Quoted from PinStalker:Well.... it's FAST (easy programming)...... so doesn't that mean someone can pinball browser her ass back into the game were it belongs?
That's an interesting thought... I think that is more of software question than a hardware question? fastpinball what's up on that front? Is it down to the software to keep "hackers" out, not your boards? So if they're running MPF or something custom that is where the access to modify assets and code comes down to, nothing Fast has control of?
