I thought the same thing, but there are a lot of examples that have the "Tested" sticker right next to the mysterious area...maybe its a downstream assembly checklist that is signed off by each tech that is removed once the final test sticker is applied.

We must get this man his missing label so it can also be missing from his game!

    I'll never tell.

A lot of people suspected it could be a QC card. could be it.

    Only one staple?

That thought crossed my mind. Virtually all of the machines with the missing mysterious label have 2 staples.

    Barely kept the label attached.

Im curious, what is the serial number of your Grand Prix?

    Quoted from mrm_4:

So your mech board, cabinet, and playfield all share the same serial number but the coin door is a different one. Are there any tags hiding in your back box?

It makes sense to me. Logic boards and cabinets are dedicated, coin doors were essentially universal. They may have changed the style of the doors over the years, but you could potentially have 50 games using the same coin door, less the ordered coin configuration required by the buyer.

the pic was from another thread for a Travel Time. The coin door had the tag
that was different than the cabinet and logic boards.
