I've been to the wiki site for Aerosmith rules and remain puzzled by one detail that isn't getting discussed. Any idea what it takes to earn a Special and how it's scored? I was awarded one today as one of the gifts from the Mystery Scoop. When my last ball rolled across that lit outlane, I expected a free ball, but earned something else instead (flew by too fast on the screen for me to see it) and my game was over! Any thoughts? Might be a menu option in the game setup that I hadn't previously discovered...

Can't say for Aerosmith specifically but there is generally an option for what specials awards. Usually defaults to a credit

Default for a Special is a free game.
If set on free play, it's still a free game.
You need to select points as the special reward from the option menu.

Only way I can think you'd light special in game is too complete a certain amount of songs, or max out the X shots from completing Aerosmith stationaries repeatedly.

That makes sense - defaults to a free game for coin-op players who manage to make it that far in the game. I've only seen Special lit twice after playing a bunch of games with scores of 200 to 350 million, so figured it must take some pretty rare combination of shots to trigger it... Thanks!
