So this is the first new pcb on the bench for 2021. A remake and improvement for the bally sounds deluxe board. Taking a delve into 16 bit . This sound board is one of my favs and need some love so here we are. Based on my previous work with squawk & talk and computer sounds boards. There are a few nice classic bally games using this also some arcade games to.

Games are:

Special Force
Party Animal
Heavy Metal Meltdown
Dungoens & Dragons
Escape from the Lost World
Blackwater 100

I also would like to see if there's a way to use this sound board in Strange Science to, but might not be possible. that game got stuck with the horrible TCS sound board.

The other cool thing is this board is compatible with my effects board to so you will be able to get the centaur style echo effects on these games to now.

Quoted from Quench:

What are you doing regarding the PAL? Did you ever get a dump of the real thing?

I'm using the equations that we worked out together a few years back and programming my own gals. I may update them alittle if i decide to use larger roms and reduce the physical number being used to. Thanks again for the help with the equations.

Quoted from Quench:

The JW1 ROMTYPE jumper on the original board is redundant right? Because all games use 512kbit sound ROMs and JW1 not jumpered configures for 256kbit ROMs which no game uses. Might as well change the 256kbit option to 1Mbit ROM support and leave the 512kbit option alone for backward compatibility.

Correct, its 512kbit roms only. I have a few ideas which i'll share later. I do want to make sure original roms could be still used if wanted

More assembly pics. Now waiting on some processors before further testing. So far, Clock works, 5v output works, Reset works.
