You have your priorities straight. Congrats...........

That's nothing, I brought Gorgar home and my wife says 'Were did you get that?...Hell.

    #5 6 years ago

Looks like she is checking your Pinside Post.

Posts like these are always fun. My Fiance always thinks I get new games, even when I haven't. Nice Xenon!

    #7 6 years ago

All those ohhs and awhs right there in the living room.
Better put the kids to sleep before playing

LOL. Love the game, but I just couldn't bring it into the house with kids around.

Funny, true story. I have a friend who picked up a Bride of Pinbot once from a Catholic girl's school. Somehow, it had ended up in their game room. However, one of the nuns had dutifully covered up all the naughty bits on the cabinet artwork with tape.

Haha, I got an earful one time for bringing home a Quicksilver. I didn't even get it in past 10 ft. And that's as close as I ever came to keeping it. I didn't even get to set it up.

What that... I have had that a long time.

She will get over it, they always do. Dang man that machine is sweet though, looks like a brand new one!

I Just move in new games when the wife is not around and see how long it takes her to notice . Very nice Xexon but you might have to pick her up a Six Million dollar Man Pin

Like I always say , "Happy Wife....Happy Life", but a man has to draw the line some where!
Congrats on such a beautiful game.

    #18 6 years ago

That first pic is an all-time classic. Godspeed.

    #19 6 years ago

That's a really nice looking Xenon!... So what exactly is she not happy about? And I don't mean that as a sarcastic question... Is it the location of the game, the theme, the number of pins that you own, how much it cost, the thong on the PF or the BG? The only objection my wife has ever really put up is when I suggested that I was going to sell my Space Time. That went over like a lead balloon... I still have Space Time.

When is a wife happy about another pinball!!

Not mine, She just doesn't get it.

I would love to have more but I get the lecture every time a new machine shows up.

My wife is great but just does not understand the pinball love.

    #21 6 years ago

That is one very crisp example of a Xenon. And the picture made me chuckle. Nicely played sir. Gotta love the artwork....

    #22 6 years ago

The machine looks great!! One of my favorites. Amazing condition. I'm lucky as I have 25 machines and my wife is so supportive. She thinks they are art. She plays once in a while, keeps the invisi glass clean and even made custom covers for me. I am building a new 1400 sq ft game room as we speak. My third. As long as I leave the dining room and living room alone I am good to go. Lol. You only live once. Pic of downstairs gameroom and pool table. Enjoy!!

Indirect heat always cooks more evenly. Good luck sir!

Isn´t that the machine called String Pin?

    #25 6 years ago

See, to me, it doesn't matter if a spouse/girl/boyfriend doesn't understand the hobby, doesn't like to play pinball, doesn't get the love or nostalgia we have for it or any of the countless other things I've heard on this subject, I feel that you should have the support of your spouse for something that you enjoy.

I don't particularly care to scrapbook, but my wife loves it, is very good at it, and I support her doing it, and never complain if she wants to buy scrapbooking supplies. Just because I don't like to scrapbook doesn't mean I'm going to berate her for it or cop an attitude every time she wants to spend time doing it, or tell her she can't set up a scrapbooking workstation somewhere in the house. (see the parallels I'm making here?)

That would be incredibly selfish of me.

It's our house and we mutually decided where we wanted to set up HER hobby and MY hobby that would work out best... Of course I ended up with 3/4 of the basement to her 1/4 between the pinballs, the workshop and the drum kit area but we agreed on it and support each other's hobby and interests.

I don't know, to me, it's selfish behavior for a spouse/other half to complain or always have something derogatory to say about someone's hobby.

This (not mine) had the artwork scraped off in this square and this drawn right on the backboard (notice the lights)

Embryonjohn, that image of your wife is priceless. haha. Nice score!

That sir depends on the wife! Not all of us are like that...Some of us actually love pinball as much or more than you guys do!
In our household it is hubby that usually has to tell me NO... but we usually agree when it comes to pins there is always room for 1 (or 10) more! Just ask anyone who has seen our collection/house!

    Nice Xenon John!

My wife is an avid pinball fan but was also raised in the Bible Belt (Swainsboro GA) and finds the gravity defying ass, "lewd" call outs about "tubes" and "try me" and it's overall sexually suggestive nature of the game "inappropriate" for the living room...

    Her favorite pin is Frontier

Could never have a devil celebrating Gorgar in the house.

...I thought my Old Chicago paved the way for Xenon

Precisely. My wife and I also enjoy this same arrangement, although she also likes playing pinball which helps too. But her hobby is primarily scrapbooking and I too am not into it but bought her a nice full size oak drafting table that works out great for her projects and she is free to spend whatever she wants on her hobby. Currently considering building her a dedicated space and turning her space into a pin sick bay of sorts, but its also kinda fun being in the same room even though we are doing different activities.

My wife is the opposite and is always looking out for a good deal on a pin at a show and hints at wanting some of the new pins. She's happy when I buy new pins that she likes, but rolls her eyes at buying neon signs. Guess I'll stick to saving and buying pinball for her for Birthdays and Christmas.

I can assure you she's no "prune"
She on her way to her Phd, teaches labor and delivery at the local college & hospitals, is a practicing RN, a lactation consultant (my dream job) and has earned every award possible in her field. Maybe she just needs a break from seeing other people's (ladies) naughty bits after being around them all day.

Need advice on how to get the wife a hobby!

Usually we go to concerts together but she has gotten into Yacht Rock and I am O-U-T. Really hard to justify $100 tickets and $50+ babysitter for Christopher Cross.
