JPOP announced Alice and Wonderland because it was a machine/theme that he had always wanted to build and he didn't want someone else to do it first (this is my understanding)
John has never asked for a dime towards A&W he has simply put together a list of interested parties and announced that it will be his next game after MG & RAZA.
