I was very fortunate to pick up a TOTAN for only $1k back in early October. Got to pick an arcade warehouse in San Antonio that had been there for decades but was going out of business. A buddy and I drove from Austin on a vague tip and it paid off. The place was a time capsule (I should have taken pictures while I was there). When we got there there where 8 or 9 pinball machines and dozens of arcade games. All covered in a thick layer of dust. I was told all the Pinball machines where already sold and was really bummed out so I considered picking up an Aliens vs Predator acrcade but then as games where being shifted around and hauled away I spotted a filthy TOTAN that was buried under boxes and hidden by other machines. I turned to the Owen and said “What about that one?” He said $1k. I shook his hand without hesitation because for one, although filthy it looked like it was in great shape, and there where a bunch of other people there that I’m certain would have loved to snag it for that price. The machine was licensed for route from1996 to 2001. Despite that the play field has essentially no wear, even around the bazaar scoop.
So I’ve spent the past few months overhauling it. I didn’t go over the top, nothing gold plated, no color DMD, no mods, just tried to bring it back to its glory days. Here are some photos.
