Quoted from beelzeboob:

as well as Skypilot's equally-great thread about his Funhouse restoration for game-specific issues: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/funhouse-restoration

Thanks for the compliment

Good luck on the restoration. If your missing any pictures PM me and I will see if I have what you need.

You Bondo. You wait. You sand with 80, 120, 220...

You find another dent/ding/chip.

You find another dent/ding/chip.

And on and on it goes...

Ya, that joke never gets old.

Quoted from beelzeboob:

I just feel like buying a new cabinet is cheating in a way

There is a varying degree of opinions on this. For some there is no better alternative due to logistics, tools and facilities. Some are just not interested in originality. I personally look at the cabinet sanding/painting as a pain in the ass but choose to do it because of the same thoughts you have.

Building a new cabinet is just as much work, if not more?

Not disputing that at all. I believe he meant purchasing one.

Quoted from Bryan_Kelly:

Some of us can do it without our wife's help too.

Not Jim though. His wife makes sure he puts the sticky side down.

I always cut to the top of the bevel/ rounded edge. Nice and clean

you should be confident enough to admit your errors.

My errors are that I like restoring pinball machines

Quoted from beelzeboob:

Sure.
I picture Chris Hutchins gently caressing the old solder off the leads down there at HEP. But as the thread title states, this ain't no HEP restoration. And I'm white trash, so Bryan Kelly's method works perfectly for me. Here's how you do it:
1. Heat the old solder until it liquifies.
2. Smack the shit out of it against a hard surface.
3. Repeat.
4. If you smacked it too hard and broke off the lead (I didn't), go online and order another coil.
Great system...can't be beat. Enjoy!

LMAO
