NLA = No Longer Available

just letting those that are interested that I have started to open some items up for purchase at my Shapeways Shop.

I was asked by a well respected pinball restorer here in Aus to model up, test print and make available a few "no longer available" parts. The advantage of this for you guys is that it will be fairly cheap for postage compared to us Aussies and now some of those parts can be used in restoring those classic Bally SS etc back to original.

Also I am working on a range of mods, where you can print in the colours you want with a nice finish and then have them shipped directly to you for a reasonable price.

Current items are:
- Hexagonal Post Cable Restraints
- Bally SS Backbox globe shrouds - original and improved versions with screw mounting holes instead of using staple mounting

Lastly I have little control over the price and I only place a small low percentage onto cover my design efforts, as a majority of the costs is Shapeways manufacturing fee.

Those shrouds will be great. The originals are always either broken or perishing. Excellent stuff.

#5 10 years ago

thanks guys, lots more to come, and updated details to Shapeways over the next few days (photos etc) and I will just refresh this thread with new items.

here is a photo of the first couple - 2 globe ones fitted to a new Fathom restore, now easily removable with no more staples and for those interested in Aus please send me a PM as I can make these and save you the pricy postage charge from Shapeways.

just got a email from Shapeways and there is a few hours where you can use a promo code, though not sure how much you have to spend for the codes to work.

Use promo code "save10", "save25", or "save50" at checkout
for $10, $25, or $50 instant savings.

Nice products swinks!

Great work!

I love shapeways. I got my own mod projects started with them. I eventually switched to an actual urethane casting company as shapeways is still pretty small production wise. They're still unable to handle bulk orders and always price individual pieces the same no matter the quantity.

can you share the name of the urethane casting company?

do you know of any company's that do the transparent colours as I have a few other designs but need to find the right company to make the parts.

just added a new item to the shapeways store or if you want me to print them in the yellow I can

these are the 80's WMS coin door switch covers, ones on the door are originals and in the group of 4 the left one is the original and the other 3 are 3D printed - $11 Aus each from me.

Here is a simple little dress mod for your 90's Bally / WMS cabinet. It is for the cabinet to slide into the start button hole that will cover any minor decal / cabinet wear from the years of pushing that Start. Just apply 2-4 small dabs of silicon glue to the back side and press into place (or use some tape to make the fit tight) and now you can hide that wear with a simple little Start Button Dress Ring. Now all you have to do is pick the material & colour and make the cabinet look like new again.

There is 2 sizes:
- 1/8 (3.175mm) front face
- 1/4" (6.35mm) front face

So you can pick the best size to suit the cabinet graphics as well as colours

Cool idea swinks.

Cool idea swinks.

thanks Wolfmarsh

and too all I have no control over the prices of the materials as they do get crazy for some of the metals.

I will leave this thread just for NLA parts now and start a fresh on going one for modded parts.

Sega Goldeneye Satellite Dish

This is still in refinement but will be available for sale very soon. It is a last back stop option as Shapeways isn't cheap for an item this size but it's better than no dish at all on your game. The Shapeways option will be nice and smooth and have no print lines unlike with 3D printing. You will be able to pick between some other colours as well.

below are pics of the modded panel looking one
