I christen thee “Big Red,” and look forward to many wonderful years ahead.

Goes nicely with Dio’s couch. Leather meets pleather.

I think you accidentally posted on pinside instead of the furniture forum.

The rug really ties the room together.

Are you going to change your name to la-z levi now?

Uggg, it’s absolutely brutal! Had to tap out on the 30 page thread about how Barcolounger is innovative with built in beer-coolers and lazboy is lazy and takes the tv-watching community for granted with their constant cash grabs.

Disappointed you didn’t match the leather to the Dio sofa!

Should have made them a matching pair ... (says the retired furniture guy ..)

Talking of Dio, i heard on a podcast last week that they had sold the Dio stage dragon prop a while back. That would have made a great addition to any lounge.

If your lounge ceiling was 50ft high.

Maybe you could have a section of it in a normal lounge. “Hey, what’s that big green thing dominating the corner?”

“It’s a portion of the midriff of Dios dragon!”

It's hard to beat a good Lazboy chair. I'm on #2 first one lasted over 20 years. My son is still using the first one in his house.

That dragon was in the lot! Along with a bunch of other props. I almost bid on a giant rib bone.

Come to Nycpc and I’ll give you a copy of the amazing glossy 100 page catalogue of the auction.

That’d be awesome!

Probably can’t make the champs this year, but never say never ..!

I’ve heard they don’t make them like they used to. Are they still a good brand?

I got 12 years out of my last one before the leather started to go, 10 years out of the one before that. It's pretty much where I spend all my time at home when I'm not sleeping.

I really have no idea "how it used to be" but all three of the chairs I've gotten seemed to be of the same quality and comfort. Never had any issues with the build or the craftsmanship. My old chair is still comfortable but it was time for it to go. A college student just picked it up on Craigslist "for free" ad lol.

It's nice to support a made in the USA brand as well, we have very few opportunities to do that any more.

So long Blackie. We had so many wonderful times together.

I have the same chair in brown. Sitting in it now. Good choice.

Ah, another Rowan rocker enthusiast?

Seems like the Rowan was about the biggest I could go and still fit it reasonably in my apartment. Some of those chairs are huge! Like this beast I tried out...

LOL yeah. Go back to Camden to watch them lose once a decade or so.

Surprised nobody has asked "how much for that Star Wars translite" yet...

When are we getting the La-Z-Boy or Hot Tub thread?

#24 4 years ago
Quoted from aingide:

When are we getting the La-Z-Boy or Hot Tub thread?

La-Z-Boy much less expensive, requires far less maintenance, and gets a million times more use.

NO BRAINER!

Funny thing about La-Z-Boy - I hear some people complain about how expensive they are. Meanwhile my mom - who loves incredibly expensive and uncomfortable furniture - can't believe how cheap they are as I'm trying to talk her into finally allowing dad to get one.

It's all perspective!

As long as you return without a toe tag, it's a win.

Wow. Good eye!

And yeah, I respect quality journalism. And I'm one of the last 3 people on the planet who still cares about the Redskins.

The most shocking part is that Good Housekeeping has the word "balls" in the URL for that story. What's the world coming to?

#39 4 years ago

Nice, Can’t beat a La Z Boy. You can even get a good night sleep in one.

#40 4 years ago

So that will be sweet once you get a topper, some LEDs, armrest art blades, and a plastic protector on there.

Maybe some under cushion lighting?

#42 4 years ago

So much Dio in this thread... I must be in heaven... Or is it HELL!!!!!!!

#43 4 years ago

La Z Boy is the best. If you’re a real rocker chair rocker, you know that the rest don’t hold up. I go through 1 every 2-3 years and La Z Boys are the only ones that hold up.

Oh and your chair is a Rainbow in the Dark.

#44 4 years ago

Anyone here either have or have had a Ekornes? Opinions? A customer of mine has one that is from forever ago and it’s fucking comfy. I could sleep in it no problem.
Side note, it’s actually a rocking chair. Extremely rare. So rare in fact that he contacted the company to find out what year it was made and they told him that they never made a rocking chair even though he’s looking at their markings on his. Turned out that they did make some but only a very few so not too many people that worked there even knew about them.

#45 4 years ago

Man your new Motley Crue widebody XXLE is gonna look great next to that comfy mf.

#46 4 years ago

How do you guys like their reclining sofas? I’m looking to buy one this week.

#47 4 years ago

12 years and counting for us for a pair of rocker recliners. Brother in law worked for a large furniture supplier and got a pair at cost. Rubbed them down with a leather conditioner when we bought them to prevent cracking.

You're basically obligated to show off the Lazyboy to all visitors.
