Lol - Garry the original is richer / brighter !! We can't have that.

Just letting a test coat of deeper gloss red dry on the mock up - if it works out the two recasts are next in line ...

Meanwhile my old brass drawer pull levellers are setting up in a two part epoxy

I dream and dream of kingpin.

I'm better off reading kingpin comics then playing kingpin pinball. I love kingpin. But obtaining one. Hmmm

I did some more experimenting and testing and decided to add a top clearcoat brushed on - by testors - same manufacture as the enamel paint - it brightened the flat red just enough and gave it a nice sheen so now it is far closer to the original and I can leave well enough alone!

Back out of storage! - with decorative leg brackets screwed on ( I had hoped to use my cast metal ones but I just can’t get them crisp and clean enough so for now at least I’m going to use 3-D printed ones which I will paint and detail).

Yes ... Work continues

Painted the brackets with the red and yellow enamels same as the marquee and then used an aluminum enamel and am very very pleased with the results - I could paint the entire rear of each bracket with the aluminum enamel too and they would look like cast metal parts but I think I will leave them honest and unpainted to show off my buddies fantastic and generous 3-D printing efforts if anyone ever takes a look underneath.

OK – just trying to keep the pinball project momentum up so it doesn’t lag again for another year or more!! – now all the brackets are completed – painted and installed – so I think I will first get my spin out decals printed and then move back to doing this play field !
