Hello. New to the forum. Here is my collection. It grew by a few machines recently.

-Theatre of Magic: owned since 2000. Recently restored and full LED retrofit.
-The Twilight Zone: owned since yesterday. Fully restored last week.
-Black Knight Sword of Rage LE: Bought new a couple of weeks ago.
-Multicade
-Valley dart board.
-Slot machine
-Pool table coming next week.

Thanks for looking!

Awesome!

"Start", like Lloyd mentioned is the right word.

You had me until pool table. I dont play mine enough, partially because we got a nice ping pong top for it and play table tennis a lot more.

Enjoy your space!

Thanks! It’s a new home we just moved into last month! Made sure to have the basement built with 9’ ceiling clearance, as it’s the main entertainment area.

#8 4 years ago

Well that is a very colorful collection

#9 4 years ago

Nice game room!! Needs a bar. hint hint.....

#10 4 years ago

Nice collection...just take those colored LEDs out of the GI on your Theater of Magic .

Beautiful gameroom.

I’ll be the first to say it.

The pool table takes up pin space. You might not realize that now. (And that’s a good thing, it means that you haven’t been caught by the sickness. Yet). But someday you’ll look at that pool table and say, “ I could put more pins in that space”.....Then your in trouble. Pins multiply like rabbits.

It depends on the space, I have a pool table and it takes up zero space that could otherwise be occupied by pinball machines. The space is surrounded on all four sides with a patio door, window, bar, and closet door. I can't see covering those or keeping pinball machines in the middle of the room, so a pool table fits perfectly.

They are also impossible to get rid of when you're done with it. I'm not a hardcore pool guy, I think they're fun, but not enough to ever own one. If you go on Facebook, CL, etc. you can find a pool table for free pretty much at any time of the day. Me and a buddy bought about a dozen games from a friend of a neighbor a few weeks back. She was initially trying to sell us her pool table too (which we have no interest in) for $400. The second time we came back to pull out games she asked if we wanted it for free because 3 places/people that buy pool tables wouldn't take it because it's full slate. She's going to end up paying someone to haul it off for her. If you love pool I can see it being great but if it's just a "nice to have" or an experiment be prepared to live with it in your basement forever or take basically a full loss to unload it later.

To stay on topic - GREAT lineup! I'd kill for that much space .

That said, if you're going to get a pool table, get one for free!!

Quick question. What's your overhang on that bar top and did you have to add supports?

#18 4 years ago
Quoted from Luckydogg420:

Yes, but pool - real pool - offers a much different challenge than pinball. It's also great for a change of pace. Those who really understand pool know it's more like chess. I will absolutely have a pool table in my gameroom when I upgrade to a new home.

#19 4 years ago

That TOM LED job is .....yep.

And dont worry about people saying "shun the pool table". I have a Valley barbox 7ft and love it. Gives the family and friends something else to do.....and here a crazy truth......I personally cant believe it but it's true: pinball is not the end all be all of entertainment and pool is a much more host-friendly social game

I had one of those. I miss mine. I bought it off a local business when I lived at my parents house while I was in college. They moved and it transferred to the new owner. Not a huge loss though, I paid $200 for it and got way more than 200 racks out of the deal.

Outch... not much love for the LEDs hah. They look a bit different in person with the basement lights on. I took the photo with no lights on so they glow a lot more. Definitely different than the original incandescents though. At least nothing is a permanent change, it could always be changed again. Don’t ever plan on selling it anyway.

It's hit and miss with this crowd.

Some love em, some hate em, and some others just outgrow them.

Yep you'll get some heat for that around here. I don't like it, but who cares? It's your game and you should enjoy it the way you want to.

You really have a great thing going down there!

I made the original comment, but totally agree with ^^^ I dislike most color GI, but liked blue in my BSD, so I kept them. Do what you like.

#27 4 years ago

I have a pool table and I think it's really good for relaxed conversations with friends. You can shoot a few shots, pause, talk a bit and then resume the game. Pins, especially the newer ones, kind of force you to finish the game but at least you can control when the ball is launched (assuming auto launch is disabled). Video games are the least sociable. Once you hit start you are at the mercy of the game until it's done.

Nice line up and basement setup!

Yes, there are steel supports under the granite, drilled to the bar wall. overhang is about 12”.

The under bar lighting looks great; I'll bet it sets a great mood when the overhead lights are dimmed/off.

Well.... Somehow I landed a brand new leftover 2017 Attack From Mars LE! This one really added a lot to the collection.

The pin lineup now goes: 2019 Black Knight Sword Of Rage LE, 1993 Twilight Zone, 1995 Theater of Magic, 2017 Attack from Mars LE.

I think i may finally be done with additions for awhile.

Dohh! Sorry about that, already posted about that before...

You have more cupboards and countertop space in your bar than most people have in their kitchen! Myself included Room is really shaping up nicely. The room is more than large enough to handle that pool table and plenty more space for pins if your taste skew that way in the future. Ceiling height as mentioned is remarkable for a basement, awesome!
