I have a completely unfounded theory about GOT...

Many (most) recent Sterns have an obvious thing to shoot for (Sparky, the wrestling ring, drops in Mustang, disc in Tron, Iron Monger, etc) which is great for newbies. The GOT Pro does not have this. It has complex rules that require deep understanding and ball control skills to go with it.

I think putting a Premium on location makes a lot of sense because newbies are going to feel really rewarded by getting to the upper playfield. "...and then I got it up there and started fighting the dragon!"

Without that upper playfield - I don't think there will be any obvious and rewarding moments on the GOT pro for casual players.

    Quoted from dannunz:

I think I am going to put my very nice JM in their as well this weekend.

As said, every location is different, but...I've never heard of a JM on location that wasn't an absolute stinker in earnings. Only been operating for the last two years, so take that with a grain of salt.

Looking at your collection, I'm pretty confident that any other game you have would do better, especially given that it is in a mall and thus probably relies on casual players.

Sorry whysnow, didn't mean to discourage you. Maybe if you have a lot of hardcore players, it would do better? And try throwing on a Matrix backglass for everyone else.

I haven't operated one, but I've long thought that I would own one. Now with more of an eye toward operating...I'm staying away (just from what I've heard anecdotally)...or, if I do get one, it would just be for something to have at home.

    Quoted from genex:

It earned 937 paid plays in the first 11 days so not sure if that's good or not

That is an absolutely insane number of plays. At that pace, a Pro would pay itself off in under two months! (Not accounting for revenue split.)
