Thoughts and prayers...

#5 4 years ago

Very suspicious.
What did the autopsy results seem to indicate?
Did u put a faster elec motor on the hamster running wheel?
Diet changes?
I trust u didnt cross the streams,

#6 4 years ago

Was it pinball related? DANG

#7 4 years ago

all at once?

Be strong! You'll get through this.

Odin , prayers are out to your and your beloved hamsters. Such lovely creatures.

#9 4 years ago

I think they danced to their demise.

Sorry Odin. On the bright side, there's a certain amount of freedom to living a hamster-free lifestyle. Take a vacation, travel, see the world. The hamsters would want it that way (probably).

Just find some others that look similar, you will never notice!

I worked at an aquarium store in college (see avatar). I cannot tell you how many times people came in looking for something specific so their kids wouldn't notice.

Years ago my son had a gecko, GG, (gordon gecko) it died while he was with his grandparents. We replaced it with a "new" around the same age and he noticed immediately.
Hopefully O-din will have better luck.

Maybe its just me, but this seems a little insulting to the Pinsiders who posted about losing a brother in a logging accident, or cancer taking a family member....
Im all for parody threads but this seems tasteless

Do you have a Carbon Monoxide issue with any gas appliances?

Years ago, an employee phoned work to say his Hamster died, that he would be a little late for work. He didn't show up until noon. He was still grieving when he got to work. He really had a rough day.

Agree. But you also have to realize that some people were just born to be assholes and attention whores and can't help themselves.

For those that didn't get the Jim Carroll reference:

I love odins threads but can’t help but agree. Just remember though we all deal with grief differently. There are many who can’t cope with death head on. When I worked for the local pd, we did death notifications, and one lady busted out laughing when told her husband had been killed in a car accident. Shortly thereafter it was uncontrollable tears. Death has a way of overloading the circuits in the brain, and anything is possible. We’re all family here and we will always be here for each other, though some in their own ways...

Do not golf with your hamsters, use balls instead..

However.....................

I don't think anyone should be posting about their brothers' accident or family member who died of cancer. Some things are meant to be kept private.

For some, pinside is their family though.

This is one of the oddest posts I have ever read on here. Odd, yet 100% feasible.

Completely agree.

We told our daughter her fish was sick and the medicine the Vet gave him changed his color, she was only 6 she bought it.

Hang in there man!

It's a well known fact hamsters cannot swim, thus with all the pooling on new playfields these days, this drowning tragedy was inevitable!
I for one put the blame on the pet owner, he should have had a more watchful eye on the rodents, they never stood a chance.

For shame o-din, for shame.

So some people are actually "anti-empathy"? People deal with grief how they deal with grief. None of it is "right" or "wrong", it is what it is. Pinside has a few real fuckups as members, no offense.

#31 4 years ago

It wasn't meant to be an insult to anybody.

I saw something on TV that reminded me of the many hamsters I had raised. Habitrail city you know.

#32 4 years ago

Wow, this could go down as Pinside's most idiotic post... at least top 3.

#33 4 years ago

Seriously guys, it was the middle of the night, I was shitfaced and I saw a hamster on TV.

If you want to read into it more than that, go right ahead.

#34 4 years ago

Do what you want, but perhaps messaging a moderator to remove it would be good.

I don't think you meant anything by it.

Thanks I really didn't.

Mods, feel free to delete this thread.

I don't want to be that guy.

Understood.
It was not the best time to start this thread...I'm closing it now.
We'll discuss among mods if it needs to be deleted.
