I have been VERY fortunate with my ST:TNG. It was not a routed machine. I bought it for 1800.00 and it had a couple of hundred plays on it. The cannons stopped working and they stopped using it. There was a pinched wire under the play field. It was working in no time... Since then I have had to do almost NOTHING except routine maintenance.
Its certainly jumping into the deep end of the pool, however, one way to look at it is.. after having a ST:TNG everything else will be easy.
Greatest machine of all time???? Damn close.
