I hope I never get too old to chuckle at jokes like that!

Edit. I typed over my “that’s what she said” that was supposed to precede this statement. Doh!
Quoted from PismoArcade:There might be a few of these lying around somewhere.

Yea those boxes might look all good laying around, but they never deliver.
Never bought from FUN!, but I did attend the Nationals and PinMasters they hosted a few years back. I noticed that Alcohol was strictly forbidden, with the exception of Craig who enjoyed many frosty Heinekens. Do as I say, not as I do- I was never a fan of that
Quoted from chuckwurt:Next time use Flip n Out or Tilt Amusements. Sorry you had to deal with Fun!
I know many people say Tilt is great, so I even opted to buy my first NIB from them. I was reassured and guaranteed from a QC concern I had before I sent payment, ultimately HAD said QC issue upon delivery, was told I’d be made whole multiple times (even asking for my delivery info for replacement PF) and then got JACK SQUAT and no more responses.
My one transaction with Tilt was complete bullshit. I know countless people give them rave reviews, but they’re not flawless. I’ll never buy from them again.

Maybe HEP can restore it.

Never said they were flawless. That’s literally impossible. Sorry you had a bad experience.

Can't say I disagree here.
Just don't see the point with distributors.
I developed a problem with a no-longer new in box from Tilt ... my first... and i can't get anyone at Tilt to respond. I seriously need a new flat cable and no one at Tilt will respond with a part number.
Stern Tech Support has responded about a different matter ... once, but hasn't followed thru with the requested information.
Not feeling love from *ANY* distributor at this point.

Gonna call bullshit on this, I responded to you that i needed the part number, you replied saying you sent it already, although not to me, and then sent me a part number that is not a stern part number, so i couldnt order it. So please dont lie and say you didnt get a response

Call all the bullshit you want ... but you have two people responding from the same inbox.
I sent Trent the part number; but "Troy" was also replying.
The net result is that Neither of you responded with any further details . EVEN after I sent a followup email asking for a response.
You were sent the part number on 11/19 and 11/22.
I asked for a response on 12/7.
How many times does a paid-in-full customer need to email you for technical support?!
pasted_image (resized).png
Now after looking at your picture... I see you replied on 12/7... which I didn't get.
So; maybe your response was spam trapped but it's too late for me to find it.
Finally; also from your picture - there seems to be some claim from Stern that the part number is invalid. Which is also bullshit.
Item #7 is clear as day in the schematics:

I don't think it's unreasonable for a distributor to attempt ensure their customer is well taken care of. Do you think this is taking care of a customer?
I'm not trying to be adversairal; but I did expect better from Tilt based upon your rep.
You have my phone number; call me.
Wow, we're actually getting 2 distributor/customer dust-ups in 1 thread!!! Talk about happy hour! This might be the only bang for your buck in all of pinball today.
Quoted from CrazyLevi:For those who are a little lost, “box” is / vulgar euphemism for “Vagina.”
You’re welcome!

It is always great when threads just devolve into general airing of grievances. All the raw wounds are brought out into the open !

People were indicating that a different vendor was great...
I simply provided a counter argument.
Prior to this past "dust up"; I had high opinions of Tilt. Even the response here was dismissive.
All they had to do was pick up a phone... or ensure that the customer was happy with follow up emails.
Didn't happen.
Wow. This is almost doxing. Shiv Shiverhead. Interesting name LOL.
Is airing dirty laundry between customers and businesses typical here?

Yup, and they jumped right on your claim in this thread… while it was in response to mine, which has still gone overlooked. So it’s par for the course for me. I’m still SOL. Many may have great experiences, and they have every right to stick with what works. I’m just batting 0 for 1 in that particular camp.

Covid-19 ushered in a resurgence of popularity for pinball; hence, the current ungodly inflated prices. Consequently, anyone authorized to sell new pinball machines has found themselves in the catbird seat. Some dealers/distributors have grown gargantuan egos and now have the business/customer relationship turned on its head - they think it's YOUR privilege to do business with THEM, and if you have reasonable customer expectations or don't enjoy getting stiffed, you're a "difficult, demanding customer". This will change with the economy. For now, it's all the more reason for buyer due diligence in seeking out reputable vendors who haven't developed malice and dismissiveness toward customers who expect to get what they pay for.

Thank you! All this time I've been calling it a virgina. I've gots to move down off of this big hill.
Fun = Bad goes back to 2006 , bought a Checkpoint that was sold as working perfect ! Set it up and noticed the Turbo Boost ( auto-launch ) not working . Looked under the playfield and none of the parts were there ! Called them up and was told " we have the best Tech's there are and if it isn't working then it wasn't suppose to ! "
I'm not sure if I understand what you are saying. On the one hand, Trent actually did respond, which you didn't get, and somehow that is Trent's fault. Then it seems you didn't send a follow up email or lift up the phone to call, maybe with a "hey, did ya'll get my email about this part?", thinking you were blown off. Which you weren't. And Stern didn't find a part number in their system, despite it being a valid part number. Weird, that amongst the tens of thousands of parts one might fall through the cracks. Sounds like I would have followed up, maybe with the diagram that you included on Pinside, but not to Stern, to explain that the part is one of theirs and does exist.
All that said, the thing that made me laugh out loud and almost piss myself was:
"I'm not trying to be adversairal..."
You are many things Zitt. Creative. Opinionated. Furry.
Adversarial also seems like one of your many attributes.

Thank you for your input.
I did discuss this with Troy via PM.
I do agree it isn't Troy's fault regarding not responding to email that was spam trap.
However, they still haven't responded to my request to call me on the phone.
Nor have they held Stern accountable for the invalid part number BS. It's proably in flight and is a weekend... so I'm not ready to cry foul.
Stern owes me and their customers a replacement plan on parts. Period. And given I'm suppose to work thru Tilt to get a response; it's not unreasonable for me to expect Tilt to fight to get a replacement plan in place for an obviously correct part number.
Remember; I did follow up to Troy because his emails were not received... so is that my fault? no. Is it his? no.
But I personally just had a customer use that same logic on me. Am I responsible for lost mail; no. Is he? no. So does the lost mail thing fall to the vendor or the customer or neither? I guess what I'm saying is neither of us are responsible for lost email; but, It's not unreasonable in today's world to expect the vendor to try more than once to get a response. Notice I did try once to get a response. That should have been a flag to the vendor that something was wrong with the communication format and that an alternative means to contact was necessary.
So; while I'm no longer still pissed at Tilt - and have change my opinion to "neutral"... both Tilt and Stern owe me a an reasonable response to the part number situation and a replacement process for those parts. It's Tilts job here to find a solution for their customer.
Spam must work different in the USA. Here i check my spam box every day. Sometimes customers get shunted in there. If i delete a spam mail without scanning i would think i was at fault for not checking. I only deal with 25-40 emails a day though, so probs small change to most people.
Quoted from punkin:Spam must work different in the USA
Agreed; I do the same.
That doesn't mean of course that the problem was on my side.
Many email systems delete the spam in 10days or less... so you'd have to be expecting an email to be looking for it.
No worries, i just maintain it as a matter of course, but i do run a small business, so i need to check.
Quoted from texas_compadre:But the owner who trashed HIMSELF here on Pinside is the current one, Craig Hassell, who has been the manager at Fun! for a number of years. For example, check out this Pinside thread from a few years back:
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/buyer-beware-fun-billiards
In this thread, a lynch mob starts drawing in around the OP for starting a "buyer beware" thread. Then Craig Hassell chimes in, looking like Cool Hand Luke at first. Then the OP starts responding to Hassell's claims with actual emails from Fun!, and Hassell ends up getting caught in false statement after false statement. By the end of the thread, Hassell is waffling between being apologetic, admitting he is in the wrong, and then hurling hot-headed insults at Pinsiders in general, revealing his true character... even his buddies are calling him out at that point.
Hey, I'm truly glad to read that some have had positive buying experiences with Fun!, but once again, that doesn't cancel out the many more who haven't been so fortunate.
Yup, new Fun!... same as the old Fun!
The classic is the old Ebay scams with fake bidders...

A wet box!!! The absolute best kind (if you can get past the musty smell)!!! Must be less than 50 years old! They get really dry after 50, and lots of times the contents has been "removed", making it feel like "less than a box", but thats a story for another time.
