You can get $1500 for it as-is. Fathom is one of the more-desirable early Bally SS pins and I would take it over just about any DMD.

Quoted from donjagra:If you get it fully restored and put a new playfield in it, you can probably get $1500 out of it. It's cool, but there are a lot better machines out there at the $2000 mark. With 3500 of them made, I wouldn't exactly call it rare.
Unfortunately, these older games are like that with most new collectors. The demand for them just isn't as high as you might think. It seems collectors today are into newer stern games and have no interest in fixing these older titles.
Why don't you show us all where we can buy a fully-restored Fathom with a brand-new playfield in it for $1,500.
ROTFLMAO!
In case you haven't noticed, you can't even find a repop playfield for under $1,000.
I'll give him $1500 for it right now.
I sold one last year with a nicer original playfield in it than the OP's is but the cabinet didn't look quite as nice for $2800.
Quoted from scottc:How does anyone know what pins sell for??????
Ebay shill bids.....
No-one ever says what they buy or sell for.....and when they do how do you know it is the truth??????
Unlike Neo (and you) I was speaking from experience having just recently purchased two Fathoms and selling one.
If you find a Fathom in any condition for less than $2000 you are ahead of the market.
If I could buy 10 like the OP has for $1500 each I would buy them all right now.
No "shill bids" involved.
Quoted from scottc:Well now I have "YOUR" experience which gives us nothing, someone else that sold one for 1800 and this guy that bought his for 200, great score. What did you pay for the two you bought and one you sold??????
And what do you know of my experience???? geez
I know you're full of crap.
That's enough for me.
How many Fathoms have you sold recently there "Mr. Every Auction on eBay is a Shill"?
lol
I've sold a ton of machines on eBay and I guarantee none of them had shill bidders.
You only find Fathoms for as cheap as this guy did when the seller doesn't know the real worth and no one else who does (with the coin) is bidding against you.
Whatever there Troll...lol
Please quit trying to hijack the thread with your BS.
I doubt the OP cares if you dislike Fathom. Keep it to yourself next time.
Quoted from CaptainNeo:I just realized I was thinking of the wrong game. For some reason I thought this was the Stern game Seawitch. Totally different animal. My bad. 2k is about right for this one.
Seriously, if I would have found this one, I would have thought it was $200 game. Did not know fathom was that hard to find.
Ground control to Neo!
lol
Yeah I agree with you. A Seawitch in this condition isn't worth anywhere near what a similar Fathom is.
Fathom is one of those pinball machines that reminds me of films like "The Big Lebowski".
It wasn't a huge commercial success when released but garnered a hard-core cult following. That, coupled with the limited production of 3,500 units, makes Fathom one of the most-sought after Bally SS pins ever produced.
The cabinet on this machine looks pretty-nice compared to a lot of them out there. For someone looking for one of these to put a new CPR playfield in, that is very important.
If this machine was local to me, I would probably pay $2,200 for it because I have a clear coated NOS playfield I could install.
I'm currently installing a CPR playfield in one right now.
