I disagree here. I think that most people who buy a pinball machine are expecting to keep it a long time (like a pool table). Most people here on Pinside may do a lot of buying/selling/trading, but we are the exception - not the rule.

Well, he said "most people", my point was that "most people" and "most pinsiders" are two very different groups.
It's a fallacy to look at how often pinsiders buy/sell/trade machines, and then say "see, this is what most people do".
