I started a thread that also has some links that should help you.

It's easy once you figure it out, but the figuring it out part can be time consuming. Contributing does make things easier because there's extra features like not having to worry about changing formats and frequency rates.

I'm with ya on the Motorhead! Ace of Spades is the only song I kept, and I'm thinking of doing an all Motorhead version for mine! The other cool thing is you can save all of your "improved" codes and swap 'em out at any time.

Also, I sorta like the trend of clear inserts. It lets you experiment with different colors. It really helps me to have a color on the top "Ford" rollover lanes to make it easier to toggle without thinking too much.

Request 26 - Cruisn' Mode Song "Free Ride" - Time 2:49.679
Request 32 - Rally Race Song "Ace of Spades" - Time 2:44.124
Request 38 - Multiball, Game Over, etc. Song "Go Boy Go" - Time 1:19.050
Request 39 - Drag race Multiball "Drag City" - Time 1:53.911
Request 46 - Police Pursuit Song - Time 1:29.582
Request 47 - Stunt Driver Song - Time 55.031
Request 48 - Road Course Song - Time 54.542
The last 3 Requests, 46 - 48 are generic techno boogie type songs that can be replaced with real songs.

I've cut & pasted the above from a thread I started a while ago.

It adds a lot to the game having songs in there you like!

I should have paid more attention... The above requests are for the pro. No idea if they're the same for the Prem/LE.

It's not too hard to figure it out. Load the program into the browser and look for requests with longer times and play them. Have the game nearby and take notes.

The great thing is if you screw it up, you can always start over. Also, you can make several soundtracks for various occasions! I did an all Motorhead one that is fun (to me) but I wouldn't leave it in there all the time!

Quoted from indybru:

Only thing there is a adjustment for tournament on mine, maybe that setting gets you back to earning the first letter M

Yes, setting it to Tournament mode makes each player earn all the letters and they do not carry over player to player or game to game. I prefer having my pro set this way. To me, it makes Mustang Multiball more of a reward.

Quoted from Stones:

Ok.....jacking around with the pinball browser. It appears replacement songs need to be about the same length as the original songs. Did anyone change the police chase music? I have set it up for dirty deeds done dirt cheap, but I can get 1.29 seconds of it in....recommendations for other songs?? Btw.....i effin love Mustang!

When I did my pro, I used Audacity and made loop of a section of the song I used (Black Sunshine by White Zombie). The 1:129 (request 46 on the pro) also fills in Request 45 (51.031 sec) which plays when you're qualifying for police pursuit. I got lucky and the song works well in both requests.

You'll need to experiment with your song, and the song you want might not work well. You'll spend some time sliding the time ahead and back to get it to loop on beat and sounding good. If you can get a riff/verse/chorus/riff to loop within the time you have, it'll sound great. It's rewarding when you nail it, and don't sweat perfection!! Also, you won't know what works until you have it running in the game. You'll be downloading into the game a LOT until you get it "right".

I went through a bunch of songs until I got what worked for me, and I'd still like to tweak it a little when I have time.

Good luck and have fun with it!

I've had my Pro since it came out and it's been solid. It's been to the MGC several times, used in tournaments and been at a few route locations when we need a quick temporary game. It still gets played a lot at home too. Fun Game!

The only problem I've had is occasionally the GI will get dim and I'll have to re-seat the cat5 cable that goes into the board in front of the drop targets. I've been meaning to change the cable, but it doesn't happen often and I keep forgetting to do it.

Just fixed an issue where the “mustang” letters on the playfield backboard started acting strange. The “G” was constantly on and the rest of the letters flashed intermittent and dim.

Remembered untangling the main cable loom from one of the end light sockets some time ago. Checked it out and found the “G” socket diode was touching the bulb socket where it shouldn’t. Straightened it out, re-dressed the loom and it fixed the problem. It was an easy fix with the backbox lowered.

Note to self, and true on any Pinball. Use extra caution when raising and lowering the backbox!

The random Mustang letter thing goes away if you set the game in competition mode. Then, the letters start at M for each player and you need to earn them. In my opinion, it's much better that way.
