Bling'd mine up a bit.
Gloss black powder coat trim.
50th anniversary car - added cars to ramps.
Added my Tachometer mod.
Building an apron with custom art work - LE style.

Chrome dress up kit to be installed this weekend.

What would interest be if we made Swinks shifter overlay at a very reasonable price point of say $34.95 in metal - chromed with inlayed letters in say black or red?

#156 9 years ago

This would be simple install....would come with double side tape factory cut 3m stuff.
Simply remove your shooter install the piece and reinstall shooter.

We could do a vote on which to make 4 speed or 5.

Be wear of shooters very addictive.
I like the quality and feel of metal better than plastic so the plates are metal cast then chromed with a back fill in color. 3m adhesive will be keeping them in place ...works perfectly with your stock housing.
Shooter rods will be up on my site in a weeks time...plates in March.

Have you guys seen my apron ?
I have a few blacks left - not on the site but would build....if your more into the LE look rather than red plastic. The center emblem is a decal they gave out at the Charlotte Birthday party for Mustang last year.

Quoted from MustangPaul:

I take it the 2 pony inserts are plastic not decals.

The two inserts are the same commercial grade art inserts as my ACDC and Elvis LE aprons.
The upcoming Metallica LE apron will have the same type art work.

Shifter plates are scheduled to arrive 20th for those that are watching.
I had 4 protos made and they have all been sold.

Quick question for the mustang lovers.
What do you think about a white ball shooter no engraving which is 1 1/6 as compared to the normal 1 5/8 real shifter Hurst ball? The plain white ball seems almost too small.

#191 9 years ago

I had a pinball size 1 1/16 3d printed...too small. 30mm thinking 45mm best.
Would be cast resin white with inlay like the Hurst...might just be best to do the Hurst.

Newest edition...Speedo testing

Mustangs and cows 009.JPGMustangs and cows 009.JPG
#426 8 years ago

Yep its the desk top dash that is sold online.
The Clock works 100% and the Humidity gauge as much as I can tell.
The speedo in stock form is a thermometer which is dull.
Lighting I added and interactive speedo I added to the other wise stock form.

I didnt want an octopus under the playfield so its just two connections and your done.
I was going to light up battery and ALT light with the start button but didnt want to complicate it further. There is only so much you can do and sell it as merchandise and be profitable. I could spend days on it and get it all working but they would not sell at that price.

#428 8 years ago
Quoted from DylanFan71:

Did anyone start selling the white gearshift/shooter with the gear diagram? That looked awesome.

Yes thats mine and I am waiting on my shipment of shooter shifters to arrive.
The plates are in stock on the site.

with the programming of color is it possible to fix the dots? The mustang emblems look more like dinosaurs in most of the animation.

Quoted from pinworthy:

1st solid weekend of play since I picked Hooked's pro at SFGE (been traveling for biz) and being an EM guy I'm really pleased ... great "old school" pinball feel, drop targets, ramps and spinners no silly bash toys. Definitely pushed ST to 3rd place in the late model line up.
Didn't hurt that I put up a pretty decent GC score @ 382,273,820
image.jpg

Wow thought my score would stick through the show...not even close great job.

#471 8 years ago
Quoted from Stones:

Just ordered my LE!!!! Cant wait to be officially in the club fellas! Anything I need to know besides the code update???

Mine lands lunch on Friday....cant wait to play the LE.

#550 8 years ago

I passed on a Boss for 6500 - LE gets more goodies standard for the money you can buy them at.
Stern has them boxed and in storage ready to ship.

#553 8 years ago

I was playing too but in a different way...dressing up the LE today.
Made the shifter shooter install vid, installed the Tach mod, H2O bottles, pinblades and new flippers from Pinballlife.com.
The brush look flippers look almost white in the pictures but look fantastic on the machine.

Oh by the way I have playfield # 1

Not a mod guy at all. I like them stock for the most part.

Curiosity....are you a pro pinball tables only or a fan of le? To me mods are lifting interaction not taking away much likenthe LE machines. Mods done the right way are an asset imo.

#655 8 years ago
Quoted from MustangPaul:

You bet I'm satisfied with my Pro. All dressed up and blinged out it's looks REAL sexy. Never played an Premium or LE.

I owned a Pro for about a year....LE about a month.

I like the pop up targets and the cross over but bang for buck Pro wins.
Unless I am missing something the extras on the LE do not really add to the game much.
I just got the LE because its a keeper for me and I like the dress up stuff.

#700 8 years ago

Guy on ebay on the boss versions if your cash and carry....still dont you have to buy a shaker for the boss?
Shaker- trim- and backbox flashers and lit speakers took me over to the LE from the boss version.

Those of you late to the party I have tachs in stock ready do ship.
Working on a boost gauge.

http://www.hookedonpinball.com/store/c7/Mustang.html

#713 8 years ago

So a nitro boost gauge that the needle is in the green till boost shot is lit (full action when lit) would be a bad thing? Thats the theory on it as it is.

#715 8 years ago

Ah ill just post a vid next week
Channel is hooked1989 and will post here in case you miss it.

#717 8 years ago

That would be cool in vpin but we have to stay within reality on this one. Your a purest so mods are a no go right?

#802 8 years ago

I could not commit that the dash would fit the LE and Prem till I got one.
Now I know that the dash will clear the turn table without issue. I am totally sold out of the Dash but if you source them I can build them ...if I can find the dashes at a good price might run a few more for LE just to be fair.

Seriously thinking of doing the valve cover mod now...stay tuned.

All you diehard Mustang fans....Valve covers are in the works and we are upping the displacement.
Testing on boost gauge is going well just waiting on art.
Fun stuff coming to the Hookedonpinball.com speed shop.

#951 8 years ago

Ah that pesky boost gauge....just figured out how it will work off of the insert...took a while.
Art work stalled but its back on track now...it will happen ...oh yes it will...lol.

Valve covers will be a simple bolt on to scale and 351 logo'd but it will be Feb.

Mustangs and I go way back so this is a mod labor of love for me.
I believe Boost gauge will be the last run of mods for this title for me....Unless I can figure out that start switch mod .

#954 8 years ago

Ha! no oil caps...cost a ton as it is lol....getting final art work tonight.
Figure Valve covers will hit end of month ...hoping same time as my first GoT mod.

#957 8 years ago
Quoted from MustangPaul:

Well if I blow up my game cuz it seezes up it'll be on you head.

Too much Nitro will do that to a motor...
I'll post a black and white of the gauge face this weekend or sooner if I can get it off my phone.

#959 8 years ago

Face is colored. Will be back lit internal to match tach mod. It will be old school needle like tach mod. Black and white is just a working sample. Watch for valve covers too...powered by ford logo.

Quoted from MustangPaul:

If you get the Mustang know that the code is more then likely done with this last update

Dont know about that. I spoke to my bearded friend at SFGE.
(maybe its there just I dont know how...)
The cross ramp could be selected by the flippers like AV.
Also he had mentioned something about the player selecting the letter being played for across the back in MUSTANG...unsure how that would play into the rules ...just seems random right now.
I know they have run Prem well over the 100 mark now and I am getting orders from the EU market for Mods on new machines being delivered. I hope they will run it once more in 2016.

#1068 8 years ago

I learned the hard way...made my own platforms then found them lol.
Now start mod'n that pro

#1070 8 years ago

If any pro guys want a bolt on horse above the DMD get a 93 cobra grill emblem...its what Stern used.
Your Speaker panel is predrilled for mounting it....well early ones were unsure of the current production.
Flip over your speaker panel - should be a hole in the center. You simply poke a hole in the speaker decal then it mounts in place.

Quoted from 27dnast:

Alright mustang owners, 2 questions:
Has anyone tried to gauge how many LE's and premiums were actually made?
For you original buyers... how has the game held up (play wise) in your collection? Are the rules solid and pretty much complete?

They sold out the LE's long ago. As far as I know I purchased one of the last two LE's a year ago. As for staying power, I owned a Pro for a year then sold to upgrade. Cant wait for Color DMD to hit.

#1225 7 years ago
Quoted from 27dnast:

So... there's roughly 600-650 of the "Prem/LE" versions made. I highly doubt they'll make more of this game... I wonder if there's a chance that Mustang will end up being one of the more collectable games made from this era of Stern. It certainly wouldn't be based on manufactured/forced collectability.
Sometimes the things that are truly limited by way of forces outside of marketing/manufacturing are the ones that end up becoming the most desirable years down the road...

This makes me wonder if the GOT le line ever sold out. I believe I have seen more prem GoT owners than LE.

#1231 7 years ago
Quoted from MustangPaul:

I hope so too. But can you still find a NIB?

It may not be for sale but I am 100% sure there is a box at stern that is labled mustang le as of last month.

Didn't want to mess with putting up an official for sale thread - figured someone in here might want this.
I have a HURST shifter knob and shooter shift plate along with the whole shooter housing, springs, washers and shooter tip.
All brand new and basically you'd just need to removed the 3 screws holding your original - remove old and install this new one.
$175 for just the plunger and shooter rod plate from website below and you're getting a shooter housing and all parts, too!
http://www.pinballdecals.com/PartsByGamePages/Mustang_Page.html
$120 +shipping to USA only [probably be about $8-$10 depending on where you are].

I made 38 of these before casting my own knob...rare bird.
Good luck with the sale.

The puddle lamps.work great on while floor and ceiling.

#1398 6 years ago
Quoted from PoMC:

Oh, works the same. I guess I thought you didn't know what the tach mod was.

Yes please post a vid of how yours works not mine.
Id be very interested in seeing it.... before you blow smoke at my mod which by the way is 89 ready to install and in stock at hookedonpinball.com

For those that may not know a stock tachometer will not have the correct reaction without modification. A spinner does not spin fast enough to trigger the reaction needed. Vid posted above is of my modified tach three years ago.

#1399 6 years ago

If someone is looking for the proper mustang emblem used by stern....it is a 1993 cobra grill horse which you can get.on ebay and fits the factory holes on your pro.

#1402 6 years ago
Quoted from PoMC:

Link to the video removed. Not really sure what the fuss is about with the video since it was posted on Youtube? I only linked it because it sounded like that Mustang guy earlier didn't know what it was, so I showed him. Also not sure what you mean by "blow smoke" at your mod? I just meant that personally I wouldn't pay $90 (free shipping included? That's why I said $100) to watch a needle move when the spinner is hit. To each their own, but for $15 and 30 minutes of time it was worth it to me to do it myself. I'm cheap and if I can do something myself instead of paying someone to do it for then I will nearly every time.

Works just fine for me with the switch wire of the tach connected to the banded side of the diode on the spinner switch. I don't see any difference in the needle action. Not like any more or less needle action would matter to me anyway.

No shipping is $6 which covers PP fees and shipping in the USA.

The "blowing smoke" reference means it is misrepresenting my mod you show in the vid by saying you can buy a off the shelf tach - hook it up as you describe and expect the needle to move over 2krpm. Your "more or less needle movement" is a deal breaker to most. My request for you to post a vid of your creation was to showcase what it would actually do if built to that spec.

I'm sure your a mustang lover like all of us at heart and I applaud your efforts to customize your game.

#1408 6 years ago
Quoted from Jediturtle:

Hey Hooked...quick question about your tach since this reminded me to ask you. Should the tach bounce with a hit to the bottom pop bumper as well as the spinner? Mine does. It's never really bothered me, but seems like it might be wrong. Works perfectly with the spinner, but with some additional action from the pops. Ever see that before?
Great mod either way though!

You will get a flinch from any switch on that row...pop..start button etc. If its in the same matrix it will see the ground. The spinner is a series of closures. Once the mod is done the readings alter slightly causing higher rpm readings.

#1414 6 years ago

I personally like the 2011 to 2014 Roush bodies. Totally skip 2015 which was a "Lets try this"year. 2017 and 2018 look to be solid with the new body coming in 2019.
We have had three 2017 gt350 cars traded for Roush stage 3 cars which was a shock but seems people are after power and track performance these days. I drove a hell cat that was traded in a few weeks ago...what a heavy load that was. Had 17k miles on it and it felt like a slug.

Quoted from littlecammi:

I know. I was thinking about my own gotta-have-it green Boss 302 (as noted back in post 1321).

Reminds me of a story...guy came in and bought a gotta have it green mustang with a stick shift.
Three weeks later he came and traded out for a red automatic.

So the saying around the dealership was "gotta have it green but rather have it red" poor guy lost his butt on a trade but he would rather have it red.

#1473 6 years ago
Quoted from littlecammi:

The Boss 302 was not available with automatic transmission so that couldn't happen with a Boss 302. Gotta-have-it green was a new color (at $495 extra cost on Mustangs) in 2013 and was not available on the GT500 (although it looks like a one-off GT500 convertible was made in gotta-have-it green). A green Boss 302 is pretty special. And I already have a red GT500 (in my avatar).

Yes my story did not specify a boss 302 just green mustang honestly cant remember if it was a normal Boss 302 GT or Roush version. Just know he went green stick to an automatic red. I know mustang guys are as dedicated to them as pinheads are to pins so Boss or no boss it was a kick in the tail for him swapping to the red automatic. We had another go from a GT350 to a Roush stage 3 in six months...again kick in the pants on trade in but these guys have money.

Working at a dealership I have seen many new Stangs hit walls, curbs and smoke tires till they blow with under 1k on them lol.
One guy made it less than a mile on his shelby, smoked his tires fish tailed into a curb...one rim and tire to go please lol. Another customer of ours went to pro dyno, left after getting it tuned only to find himself crashed few min later.

https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=pro+dyno+red+mustang&&view=detail&mid=3C025634E15D1CF183FC3C025634E15D1CF183FC&FORM=VRDGARshed just a few seconds later.

Hoping for our color DMD soon...teaser or something soon in 2018. I have seen clips but nothing finished.

This photo is a little disturbing.

Ford can call it anything else, Torino, Cougar, Capri, Talladega, Spoiler, Cyclone, Galaxy, Comet, Fairlane, Fusion GT, for the love of Pete, not Mustang!

Lol they seriously mentioned a 4 cylinder diesel last year.

#1548 5 years ago

When the new electric hits you guys will go nuts. Still few years away but developed by Roush Racing with faster zero to 60 numbers than current gt.

#1551 5 years ago

With Ford cutting back sedans and smaller cars, a four door mustang would not surprise me one bit. That being said we also saw a 4 door body style floated in 2012 for the 2015 body update which never happened.

Interesting. I've been watching for a Mustang Premium for 2 years and they almost never come up. I realize Stern didn't many but they just don't come up for sale.
QSS

People poo poo Mustang but it is vary rarely up for sale. It is doubtful stern will ever vault mustang.
I sure hope the color dmd hits I. 2019.

#1580 5 years ago
Quoted from MustangPaul:

I wonder if Stern has any?

Le wise they had two left two years ago whe I bought #61. Had a choice and I believe the other number was #63. Mine had been a demo which was cool has sample and #1 decal on it.

Quoted from MustangPaul:

Hey Bob, got mine yesterday and they are BEAUTIFUL TOP NOTCH QUALITY! These are heavy metal pieces that are chromed and painted not cheap chromed plastic. I looked at them under my mag. head gear and even then I couldn't find a flaw. Beautiful mod Bob.

Thanks ! But for the record Rob or Robert works...I hear Bob and look for my Dad lol.

This mod was made from the heart glad you liked it.

Hi i would like to know if a shaker is good mod for this game ?
Thanks for the answer

Well worth $100.

#1667 5 years ago
Quoted from gweempose:

Agreed. Given how few Mustangs are out there, what you see is what you get. If it was a Lyman game then maybe, but it's not.

I bet they sold more mustang pros than avenger pros.
I think total numbers would be suprising but still under 2500 games total.

#1669 5 years ago
Quoted from MustangPaul:

Hmmmm, I'm thinking under 1000 Pros. Sure would be nice to know. When me and my buddy have our Mustangs in a weekend indoor show I'm bringing my Pro as part of our display and let people play it.

I had heard the avenger pro two run total was 500.
They sold out of Hulk quickly then took a while for the blue run and premium is the actual rare version.

#1672 5 years ago
Quoted from Tuna_Delight:

I have sadly and officially now left the Mustang club as I sold my LE outside of Pinside this weekend. I will truly miss playing it and I'll continue to fight the good fight of countering the naysayers who have never given it a fair chance due to its less than popular theme. Mustang is a really FUN game that is absurdly underrated at its current Pinside #134 (!!!) slot.
I encourage all pinheads not already familiar with it, to seek one out and play some games on it - even better if you find a Premium or LE with their added features!
Rules and strategy info can be found here for those interested:

Goodbye Sir Tuna hope your next game is as good or better. Still hoping for a color dmd this year.

#1673 5 years ago
Quoted from gweempose:

You could be right about that. Avengers was not well received at all.

You NEVER see an Avengers premium come up for sale. I bet they made no more than 100 of them.

There is one premium that has been sold on pinside twice unsure who has it now.

Great looking trim. Hoping for color dmd this year.

#1684 5 years ago
Quoted from MustangPaul:

We all are. The game is so rare that I don't think any of the guys who do the coloring have one to work with.

There is a guy in the EU that has colorized it. I believe it's on youtube.

Welcome back! Still holding my breath for a Color DMD for our beloved Mustang pin.
I think it will look sharp in my LE.

#1723 4 years ago

How much?

Priceless. I had two inquiries to buy mine. One I said no but thanks, second i told him to float a price and they didnt respond...so priceless lol.

Everything is taking a hit due to market saturation. I have not.seen an le under 6 but I have seen a pro routed game at 3900. When bigger name le start to dip it just reflects current market. Also summer is best time to buy.

Just joined the club last week! Picked up Hooked’s original modded Pro from a friend of mine. Great looking and playing game! I remember being tempted to buy it when Hooked was selling it at SFGE several years ago! So shiny!

Good to see it stayed in the family. The center car i used is very rare now. Last one I saw.sold for just under 100 on Ebay. Very fun pro set up.

Ford is going for segment "families" so Mustang is the last standing car for the US market so that being said it makes sense. Bronco is next and will have three version bearing that name over the next three years. Large Bronco will unfortunately be the last to launch.

This electric version is going after Tesla and Porsche.
Its definately it's own animal.

I meant the shift gate plate ...

We still have the shifter plates in stock and the Hurst logo shooter.
Would suggest getting them before Hotwheels is released.

Seems people are holding on to Mustang. You see pros go up rarely but the LE and more rare Prem you only see a few a year.
Still enjoy playing mine and I dont see it leaving any time soon.
