What would interest be if we made Swinks shifter overlay at a very reasonable price point of say $34.95 in metal - chromed with inlayed letters in say black or red?

#152 9 years ago

^^ mock up?

I think a chromed plastic 4 speed one for $25 delivered would be better. I'd be in for that one. $35 + shipping is to much for me.

#154 9 years ago

this is the mock up of the 4 speed + reverse option (images below) and have a 5 speed + reverse or can do a 6 speed.

obviously the hooked one would be extremely nice chromed steel with colour in the lettering to help it pop even more. With the plastic option you would have to clear the place first before colouring in the lettering.

below is a digital mock up but very flat looking not chrome. Also is the image from shape ways in premium silver and their digital version showing a bit more detail of the numbers and letter.

Anyone want to trade their LE?

I would suggest getting a Premium not LE. Low serial # if possible...but it will be under 100 anyways

Stern has never numbered Premiums before. Big plus there for collectors!

According to my high line salespeople Mustang car collectors jumped on the Boss 302's over the past couple of years and resale values are strong! With less than 100 Premiums eventually You'll have the Mustang car collectors looking for the prems...IMHO

This would be simple install....would come with double side tape factory cut 3m stuff.
Simply remove your shooter install the piece and reinstall shooter.

We could do a vote on which to make 4 speed or 5.

With the Mustang pins shout out, "Are You Stuck in First Gear?" One could look at the shooter and agree. "Yes, I am stuck in First Gear!"

Sorry MJW, Hooked just contacted me the other day offering a new option only if people are interested.

arh but you launch (the ball) off in first gear

This could also be used in other car games or games with a car theme like CFTBL (Drive In), Taxi etc.

No problem , that's how it goes in this hobby. It's probably best to wait before buying something new but I never seem to be able to.

I'm looking at a Franklin Mint Mustang to replace the current car. Can I replace any 1:24 car, or does it have to be Maistro or M2?

#162 9 years ago

The mounting holes line up for a Maistro. Not sure about others. I'm sure there's s way to mount anything if you're handy.

#163 9 years ago

^^ Okay, thanks. I guess I'll try it out.

Standby for the 'Mustang Bullitt Edition!'

Are you going to go with a dark green powder coat too? That could be sweet! Not sure how that would match up with the cab art though.

Total thread hi-jack here, but if any of you guys are getting sick of riding your pony and want to trade for a Star Trek premium (with Aurich translite/decals), please let me know! Boss and LE especially wanted, but willing to discuss a pro + cash/second machine.

#165 9 years ago

My game should be here in about a week, but I have a stack of things to add: speaker lights, superbands, clear shooter rod, LEDs, Cliffys, etc. My first car was a Mustang, but one of my dream cars was the 2008 Mustang Bullitt.

I bought a Franklin Mint 1:24 2008 Mustang Bullitt (as a replacement for the car on there now) plus an OEM Bullitt badge for the speaker panel. I have Cobras for the speakers also, but we'll see if they fit the theme! The game already has red powdercoat, so curious if the green will match.

Just got a Mustang Pro. I added 1/64 models of the two mustangs I have owned. 65' convertible A code, and a 87' GT. I'm Going to replace the 1/24 with a 2015 GT.image-227.jpgimage-227.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Be wear of shooters very addictive.
I like the quality and feel of metal better than plastic so the plates are metal cast then chromed with a back fill in color. 3m adhesive will be keeping them in place ...works perfectly with your stock housing.
Shooter rods will be up on my site in a weeks time...plates in March.

Anything else to buy before it gets here? I started my Mustang engine today for the first time in 14 years, primed the oil pump to 60psi for 30 seconds , dropped the distributer back in and it fired right up. Ahhhh nothin like the sound of open headers and the smell of 110 race gas. Now just waiting for the paint job and final assembly. You sell your RFM yet? Just asking.

#172 9 years ago

Yup, RFM is gone as of today. TWD is ready for its new home!

All my armor is candy red powder coated and it looks stunning including the shooter housing but the coin door is still stock black. I have the red clear apron on with big red led flashers under it and wow does it light up nice. Clear flipper buttons with 2 red dual flex head leds lighting each buttons. A very beautiful package if I do say so myself.

#177 9 years ago

Can I buy a stock red transparent apron? Pinball Refinery has the $130 version with flashers, but I don't need the flashers.

Contact them, I'm sure they will sell ya a plain one. I was told they make the wiring on demand so I'd think they would be more then happy to sell you a plain one and not have to spend the time to make the wiring. Say hi to Gio for me and tell him I sent you.

Yup, they will. Bought a plain one for my ACDC Premium. Reasonable price at the time as well.

#180 9 years ago

Have you guys seen my apron ?
I have a few blacks left - not on the site but would build....if your more into the LE look rather than red plastic. The center emblem is a decal they gave out at the Charlotte Birthday party for Mustang last year.

I take it the 2 pony inserts are plastic not decals.

The two inserts are the same commercial grade art inserts as my ACDC and Elvis LE aprons.
The upcoming Metallica LE apron will have the same type art work.

Lighting the shift plastic is a big improvement. I'm going to have to copy you on that.

#189 9 years ago

Shifter plates are scheduled to arrive 20th for those that are watching.
I had 4 protos made and they have all been sold.

Quick question for the mustang lovers.
What do you think about a white ball shooter no engraving which is 1 1/6 as compared to the normal 1 5/8 real shifter Hurst ball? The plain white ball seems almost too small.

#190 9 years ago

I have a 1-1/4, 1-3/8 and a 1-1/2 and I like the 1-3/8 best. If you meant 1-1/16 yeah that would be way to small. Never heard of a 1-1/6 before. All my armor including the shooter housing is candy red so your chrome plate would look great but how much is it? If it were chrome plastic I'd buy it in a second but a chrome metal one has got to be spendy.

#191 9 years ago

I had a pinball size 1 1/16 3d printed...too small. 30mm thinking 45mm best.
Would be cast resin white with inlay like the Hurst...might just be best to do the Hurst.

Changed out the BOSS. The original Grabber Green 1970 BOSS 302 is now swapped for a Grabber Blue 1970 BOSS 429.
DSCN0654.JPGDSCN0654.JPG

It took roughly 20 minutes. The Blue looks paler in the photo. Found the car in Walmart. It is a Motor Max 1:24 scale. Had to drill 2 new holes into the bottom, other than that all went well.

With the Turn Table off, with access to the playfield I waxed the Pop Bumper area. Then also noticed that the Pop Bumper area is covered with mylar. The rubber rings behind and beside the Gears Targets needs to be replaced, as they are starting to crack.

My buddy would love that car on the game, he's a Grabber Blue fan. The rings are cracking all ready, dang.

A good friend of mine had a 1970 Grabber Fastback. It was Grabber Blue. The Grabber Package had to come with a Sportsroof, V8 engine, Sport Mirrors, Graphic Stripe, Standard Interior, and I think the rear Spoiler. It was kind of different.

#195 9 years ago

So any 1:24 scale Mustang will work? Sweet!

#196 9 years ago
Quoted from DylanFan71:

I would say yes. Drilling new holes in the bottom, to mount the car is required. Stern uses the Maisto cars that have the 2 mounting holes in the bottom. Maisto uses the holes to mount the cars in their box. Now, Stern paper work states that M3 die-cast cars should also fit. But another Pinsider stated that he had to drill the M3 car to fit.
Stern Pinball also glues the hood and doors shut. Most likely to avoid the doors opening during shipping. On the Premium and LE that cross ramp blocks air balls going towards the car.

Mine was a Grabber Orange package and also in the package there was a blacked out taillight panel and hub caps with beauty rings. The options I got was the 302 V8, "performance" 3.00 rear end and am radio. The 3 speed manual was the standard tranny which I had. The rear spoiler was an option.

Trim Rings and Hub caps on a wide wheel, yes..
The blacked out taillight panel I'm not sure if his had that. If a Mustang has any 2nd colour added at the assembly plant there is usually a 'number' after the paint code. 5 is for semi gloss black.
Grabber Orange as apposed to Yellow, that's cool. Now, it is Black or still in primer?

Still in primer but no big deal cuz I'm still working on the garage.
