I did a couple of minor mods recently. I replaced the captive ball with an orange glow ball and I found purple Nitrous Oxide keychains from China for $1 with free shipping. That was a no-brainer to install on the spotlight post next to the N2O Boost lane.

Modded my wife's '07 GT today. Installed red caliper covers and painted the wheels black. Looks sick now!

Don't be sorry, it's not parked in your garage.

Installed the the air intake system today. Matches great with her exhaust, eliminates the drone at 2k RPM and deepens the growl. Noticeable increase in acceleration as well.

Did you put a custom tune on it when you installed the CAI?

No, but I'm waiting to see if the CEL comes on with a lean code first. Going to give it 100 miles to see if the CEL comes on and if it does then I'll do a tune.

You definitely don't want to run it too lean and risk detonating your engine. But even if you don't get a lean code a good tune will increase the throttle response and make it a lot funner to drive.

I used to tune my trucks and my favorite was turning the Tow/Haul button in to the Tow/Haul Ass button.

Is anyone in the market of selling their Mustang Premium or know of one that is available?

#1366 6 years ago

While on a telcon today I replaced the Mustang with another I had. All the cars I have are darker in color and this model looks the best so far out of the ones I have. This isn't whatever brand is stock and the other three cars I have are the stock brand. So that meant I had to drill the correct mounting holes under this car. But no big deal.

I agree. The 2014 GT that was on there is nothing special. These are the other cars I have. I buy them cheap whenever I find one at a flea market or yard sale.

Quoted from Miguel351:

If the folks at ColorDMD ever do Mustang, they need to take a poll on what colors they want a lot of the cars to be. Or even offer a few different files that have different colored sets of cars.
That'd be pretty sweet!

Some titles are easy to figure out colors - like Bullwinkle. Not much room for artistic interpretation on that one
We try to use the machine art as the 'template' for coloring when we can. In the case of Mustang, the playfield has quite a few examples or cars/colors. So my guess is they'd color them like that unless there's one on the DMD that isn't on the playfield or cabinet.

I'm in no rush for ColorDMD for Mustang. Don't get me wrong - I love ColorDMD in general (I have seven already and would love another one for my WHOdunnit). But I have a Mustang Boss premium and a lot of the dots are different than on Mustang pro and LE, and I doubt anyone will take the time to colorize for Mustang premium since there were not a lot of premiums produced.

#1373 6 years ago
Quoted from littlecammi:

I can't wait. Mustang's dots will look fantastic in full color! The sigma DMD is installed in my LE and all ready for the code as soon as it becomes available.

#1374 6 years ago

Got mine yesterday. has a nice 68 fastback in red on it. Got a colorDMD ready to drop in.

#1375 6 years ago

Congrats, I like the 68 on my Pro too. The color dmd is gonna have to wait for my game cuz I'm buying parts for my 70 Mustang, 2 new big flaired fiberglass front fenders are over 1k and many more parts to go.

I made tire racks for the playfield spots.

What does the P O C stand for? Where that yellow helmet is, on the rotating part of the turntable, I want to put a Mustang wheel and tire on it. Either a Magnum 500 or the Sports Trim Ring with Hub Cap, think it would be fine there.

I just remembered I've been wanting to install a tachometer that is wired to the spinner, but then I saw the $90 price tag of the mod available for sale. So I bought a tachometer off eBay for $14 ($11.99 if you want to install the same model as being sold as a mod) and I should have it in a few days. I'll post pics once I have it installed. I think this tach is has a slightly nicer looking face, but that's subjective. Only $2 more and it comes from CA instead of China so I'll have it a littler sooner.

Oh, that's just the TAG of the owner of the mustang that i moded out.

#1381 6 years ago

Just for the heck of it I bought a set of car door projectors for $15 and made a "virtual topper" for Mustang.

ebay.com link: 2 X LED Car Door Led Welcome Laser Projector Logo Ghost Shadow Light For Mustang

Took maybe 10 minutes to install. Super strong double sided tape hold the projector in place on the rear of the backbox. Then I just added a length of wire to reach the 12v up by the coin door and it's fed thru one of the many little vent holes in the top of the backbox.

My wife thinks it's really cool and I have to agree.

If ya got a white ceiling it looks great, I have playfields over mine so that wouldn't work. Those aren't meant to be on for hours at a time, it's not a matter of the bulb burning out but how long the image will last because of the heat and light the bulb is putting out. It will start to fade. But at that price who cares right, just replace it.

If/when it starts to fade then I'll install the 2nd one since two are included in the $15. I'll report back any changes, but I only turn my games on when I'm playing so I should get some good mileage out of this first projector.

The puddle lamps.work great on while floor and ceiling.

And this morning I installed the eBay tachometer and it looks cool in that spot on the playfield. For a $15 mod, I dig it. For almost $100 I would be really disappointed.

huh? I didn't take a video, but it works the same. You asked what the mod does so I showed you what it was.

Well, it helps that I bought the game 3-4 years after it was released and only have had it 6 months. So I have the luxury of looking back at what cool mods people have come up with since its release and can now do it cheaper. Great idea for this mod and it looks great for sure.

Yeah it's a great game, my Promium aint goin anywhere.

A tach gauge is a great mod. Sure would LOVE to be able to add a nitrous gauge as well that is tied into the Nitrous Boost 2X (and 3X) scoring sequence!

I was thinking of this also. Since a nitro gauge reads the pressure of the tank I don't think there's any wire that connects to a switch like the tach does. So with a little creativity, you could buy a tach gauge and take it apart and try to replace the faceplate with a nitro face. If that is possible then could just print a nitro faceplate instead of buying a nitro gauge and removing that faceplate. Then just mount it and wire it to whatever nitro target switch you want.

I forgot I ordered this metal Pony emblem from China off eBay for $7 and it arrived today. I think it dresses up the area around the DMD and goes nicely with the speaker inserts I have.

Yes please post a vid of how yours works not mine.
Id be very interested in seeing it.... before you blow smoke at my mod which by the way is 89 ready to install and in stock at hookedonpinball.com

For those that may not know a stock tachometer will not have the correct reaction without modification. A spinner does not spin fast enough to trigger the reaction needed. Vid posted above is of my modified tach three years ago.

If someone is looking for the proper mustang emblem used by stern....it is a 1993 cobra grill horse which you can get.on ebay and fits the factory holes on your pro.
